🍁FIRST LOVE LAST LOVE BY @adelegriffin 🍁 Big thanks to @bookmarked for sending an early copy of this one! It officially hits shelves today! This book was fantastic and such a beautiful story of love. It was absolutely devastating at parts, but the story of the two main characters gripped me from the very first page. The book follows Vida, a mom who is just trying to live a predictable life. When an accident thrusts her into the orbit of her childhood love, Elijah, she is forced to confront all of the feelings that she had tried to put behind her. Elijah is a famous and troubled musician and his lifestyle choices were ultimately what pushed them apart in the first place. The love they have for each so many years later is palpable and despite all of the hurdles, I was truly rooting for them. If you are a fan of The Bright Years by Sarah Damoff, you would likely love this one! Also a great choice for people who enjoy authors such as Mia Sherifan, Colleen Hoover and Jennifer Hartmann! Qotd: What are you reading to get into the fall spirit? #sourebookslandmark #arcreader #adelegriffin #emotionallovestory by @alexsbookmark

❤️LOVE LIKE APPLE BY @jeffzentner ❤️ Thanks to @grandcentralpub for the ARC of this one and to @librofm for the ALC! This book was absolutely fabulous and a great mix between historical fiction and romance. The premise of the book was such a unique one as well! Jeff Zentner knows how to write a story that absolutely pulls you in and immerses you in the story. I never thought I would love a story so much that is based around puppets, but here we are! The book is written in a documentary interview style and follows Tiller Loomis, who grew up on an apple orchard in Appalachia. His childhood was colored by his alcoholic father and his older brother always trying to care for him and pick up the pieces. When his older brother, Smith, gets drafted for the Vietnam War, Tiller is left to try and fend for himself. As he grows up he ends up gaining a love for puppetry and find himself in NYC in the late 70s working on a ground breaking puppet show called Imagine Nation that is marketed to teenagers. Tiller finds a chosen family within in the cast of the show and falls hard for Julie, a fellow castmate. The journey of self discovery was beautiful and the love story was one for the ages. If you're not a huge fan of Jeff Zentner already, you should be, This book was fabulous and one that I will remember forever! Qotd: What's your current read?! #lovelikeapples #jeffzentner #grandcentralpublishing #librofm by @alexsbookmark

💌BOOK MAIL 💌 Some fun book mail from my friends at @harperperennial today! I taught 9th grade English for many years before I had kids and my absolute favorite book to teach was To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee! It was easy for my students to get into in that the writing is approachable, but there is so much to learn from the story. I can't wait to dive into this collection of stories and essays! Qotd: What was your favorite book you read in school and if you are a teacher, what is your favorite book to teach? #harperperennial #harperlee #teacher #bookstagram by @alexsbookmark
❤️BAD WORDS BY @rioghnachrobinson ❤️ Thanks to @stmartinspress for the ARC of this one and to @macmillan.audio for the ALC! And shout out to @bookofthemonth for my beautiful shelf copy! I know this one will be getting a re read! I read this one switching back and forth between audio and kindle versions and I ate it up in one day! This was an absolutely fabulous novel and I had high expectations with a blurb from Emily Henry on the cover, since I LOVE her! This was a slow burn romance, but it was also a book about identity and finding yourself as well. Both main characters evolve in such a beautiful way throughout the course of the novel and their enemies to lovers storyline was a fantastic read. I found myself picking this one up with every spare moment I had and to me, that says a lot in and of itself. A fabulous and memorable read, where I was truly rooting for both main character both individually and together. The book follows Parker, a novelist whose debut novel was purchased by a large publisher for a life changing amount of money. Everything was great for him until Selina wrote a blistering and unforgiving review in a popular NY magazine. Her review was s0 scathing that his book was basically a flop. Years later, the review is a defining moment in his life and as his next novel is set to be released he is worried about critical acclaim once again. Selina once again writes a less than favorable review dashing his chances of a recovery as an author. The second article instigates a feud between them that is mostly online, but occasionally in person. He learns that there is more to her than he thought and she learns the same thing about him, As they reflect on each other and on themselves, they realize that maybe they don't hate each other after all. LOVED IT! Qotd: Tell me the last book you absolutely devoured! #smpearlyreaders #macaudio2026 #botm #arcreader by @alexsbookmark
