🎓 12 things i wish someone told me before my computer science degree. 📐 data structures and algorithms is the class i underestimated, and every technical interview is built on it. 🏗️ system design is the level after it, and nobody hands you a syllabus. 📖 a php book and one summer of projects got me hired before graduation. 🚀 start at a small company where you own the whole stack, then move up for the pay and the balance. 🎾 tennis taught me discipline, a bucket of serves a day, and i applied the same habit to algorithms. 🤖 ai does the typing now, so the fundamentals are worth more, not less. 🧭 none of this is meant to scare you. 💬 follow, then comment roadmap and i’ll dm you the path. 📩 send this to whoever starts their computer science degree this month. 📐 i took it like any other class and moved on to graphics, web dev, social engineering. 🎯 nobody told me the interview at every serious company is that one class, timed, on a whiteboard. 🕰️ i learned it properly later, on my own time. 🧱 new tools, frameworks, and languages appear all the time and disappear just as fast. 🔁 master the fundamentals and you’ll be able to pick up new technology over a weekend. 🤖 students are using ai to skip the part that makes them useful. ✈️ would you board a plane running code nobody on the team understood? 👀 someone has to be the person who can read it. 📐 algorithms get you the offer. 🏗️ the design round decides if it says junior or senior. 🗺️ learn it before the job asks, the same way you learned algorithms before the interview did. 🪞 plenty of people feel it deep into their careers. 🧭 it is rarely talent. 🏢 one company teaches you one stack or technology. 🛠️ new tools shrink the feeling. 🚪 i looked for interviews with a take home project and no whiteboard. 📉 they exist, and they pay less. 🔁 the patterns i tried to dodge are what the high paying jobs test, so i went back and learned them. 🎲 part skill, part luck. 🚪 you never know which problem walks through the door. 🙃 i have walked out sure i passed and got the no anyway. 🔁 when it happens, book the next one before the feeling sets in. 🎓 nobody teaches the ent taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @alextoder
