Trust-
My favorite word.
Barbering since 2011,
Glad I made that dessiscion.
2019 I went solo
Fresh start in Woodland Hills.
Moving on from a busy walk in
OG barbershop in Canoga Park
to sleek studio suites in a corporate building.
(game changer)
That year was amazing till Covid hit
And put a detour on my dream-
that started building in my mind back in 2011 in barber school.
Not sure what the future held for 2020
So the for next few years
relocated and work at local shop in the area.

April 2023
Ran it back
I couldn’t Denny the momentum
That I had built in Woodland Hills
So I broke the pigy bank
No loans or capital
Just some big balls
and a Home Depot credit card.
Opening Woodland Hills Barber Studios wasn’t just about business; it’s about creating something bigger than myself.
Opportunities and Community.
I’m joined by like minded barbers
(Finding good people to work with can be hardest part).

From the block, for the block. Canoga Park raised me, and I’ll never forget it.

Was only supposed to be one kid, but we ended up sponsoring three incredible kids for back-to-school season. Clothes, supplies, fresh cuts, and a facial—because confidence changes everything. This is what it’s all about

To everyone who helped brainstorm, bounced ideas with me, and came through the shop to drop off supplies and cash we couldn’t have done this without y’all. Canoga Park showed up and showed out. 🙌🏽

Some of you know me as Alex Torres.
But before the barber chair... there was REUP.

That was the name I went by while chasing a dream that meant everything to me.

I never let fear make my decisions. I’d rather fail chasing something I believed in than spend the rest of my life wondering, “What if?”

Being a barber was always Plan B.

Funny thing is, Plan B became my purpose.

Today, I’m still changing lives—just with clippers instead of a microphone. Different stage. Same heart. Same hunger.

The last picture is of me on a billboard for our barber school.
Looking back, that was a clear sign from God that barbering was going to work out for me. 🙏🏽

I still remember all the homies from the neighborhood hitting me up, saying, “Yo, did you know you’re on billboards all over the Valley? by @alextorresbarbering
