SVATBATA
by @marcosmoraukoshska
@grandtheatregeneve with @balletgtg

We are feeling honored and glad having had the opportunity to compose music and sounddesign for this great project.

All this wouldn’t have been possible without the support by all the great woman and musicians from Bulgaria we met on our journey! ❣️

@bulgarianvoicesberlin under direction of @boryana.velichkova for their incredible voices, patience and discipline during our intense recording session.
@velizarakara for her constant support, deep insights and reflections.
@y.ana.lineva for her spoken words and showing us her version of Sofia. And last but not least:
@kushevagergana for jumping in last minute as a solo-singer with her beautiful voice, opening up a new poetic space, a final touch
Aaand @fe.male.bitchboy for screaming her soul out for the piece, giving the dancers the right ‚timbre‘ hehe

THANK YOU A ONE-HUNDRED-THOUSAND TIMES!!

A few impressions of our research trip to Bulgaria
for the new creation ‚SVATBATA’ by @marcosmoraukoshska for @grandtheatregeneve / @balletgtg for which we compose music and sound.

1-3 Making recordings of Styx in the mythological cave of Orpheus travel to the underworld for Eurydike

4-6 Kupkeri Festival at Shiroka Laka. Chasing off the bad spirits of winter.

7-11 Rhodope Mountains, Kaba Gaida Bagpipe

And last but not least @bulgarianvoicesberlin
with which we had the immense pleasure to collaborate and record our music and traditional songs with ❤️

Big thanks also to @velizarakara who supported us with her deep knowledge and understanding !

When the smoke clears, what will we get to experience?

In Marcos Morau’s new creation “Cold Song”, we step into a world between fiction and reality, where the dancers blend physical precision with play and theatre. Are they shaping the stage, or is the stage quietly reshaping them?

Find out by getting tickets for the double bill, Past the Point. World premiere 6 feb!🕺🏻❄️🎶
