I never thought I would have to say goodbye to you, my dear Cindy. Seven years of pure love, comfort, and quiet happiness. From the very first day I took you home, with your tiny face and little body, you changed my life. I bought the cheapest bowls and the most expensive food because even then I wanted to give you the best of everything. In just a few minutes, you turned my parents into pet lovers. You didn’t try. You just existed, and that was enough. You were never just a cat to me you were my first love, my first fur daughter, my home, my heart. You greeted me at the door when I came home from work, no matter how tired or broken I felt. You slept between my legs every single night, warm and safe. Before you came into my life, my heart had never felt full like that. You healed parts of me I didn’t even know were hurting. Now I’m saying goodbye to you while I’m 8,106 kilometers away, and that pain feels unbearable. I can’t hold you, I can’t kiss your tiny head, and I feel like I’m failing you by not being there. You were my comfort when the world felt too heavy, my quiet companion through every joy and every heartbreak. I dreamed about coming home and seeing you again, about your reaction when you smelled me after four years, about you running to me or pretending not to care and then sleeping beside me all night like nothing had changed. I guess I will never know now, and that breaks my heart all over again. But this is not the end. I believe one day I will meet you on the other side, and you will be there waiting for me just like you always waited for me at the door. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for loving me with your whole little heart. Thank you for every purr, every cuddle, every moment you made my life better just by being in it. Sleep well, my baby. You are so deeply loved.
