I lived in Queensland for a few years when I went to university for my first degree. My Aunty Judi was like a second mum to me during those years. I could always come over, and I would always be fed and have a place to stay if I wanted to spend the weekend. Having her as a bingo buddy was an added bonus, and there was always cake or bakery treats. I always had family and love in that house, and she made the homesickness go away.

I've moved around a lot, but whenever I went to Queensland, Aunty Judi was top of my must-see list. I was very lucky to have seen her twice last year, and in July, when we were in town, she got to see all the kids. She lost her battle with cancer this week, and the loss of her is hitting me hard. It's like riding waves of grief that come and go; you have to keep going on with life, but then you have quiet moments and your mind dwells on all those memories.
My thoughts are with my uncle Shaun and their kids, her brothers and sisters, and anyone who knew her who loved her and her big heart. I'll miss her stupid laugh and the way she used to call me Moo. I'm glad she's not in any more pain.

Well that’s it guys. All my kids now double digits. Lucy is the marker for age so we’re all fucking old now. She turned 10. I repeat, the baby is 10. Fuck me.

She requested ‘potato 4 ways’ as her birthday dinner and allowed us to also put other vegies and a steak on her plate.
That’s scollop potatoes, potato gems, mashed potato, and I also made a potato bake (not pictured). Cant deny that kid any carbs.

I pulled in to the cheesecake shop on the way home from work and she would not be satisfied by any of the cakes I showed her by video call, so I had to then go to Woolworths for ‘just a normal mudcake’.

She’s picky but bossy, she knows what she likes and she’s not afraid to tell you either. So a pretty typical 4th child then. She gives the best koala hugs and I’m still feeling really lucky she’s mine! Birthday party incoming this weekend! by @alfee7

Stop 2: Greenwich Park & Observatory.
This place was very cool, they had some telescopes set up for us to look at the sun and you could see the filaments, prominences and sunspots. We had to wait a minute for the clouds to move, but it was an awesome experience. by @alfee7
