I’m probably going to regret jumping in this group chat, but my “spurit” is fighting so here we go…….1. Justice, at least in America, is never going to be applied equitably, justly or fair. So let’s not cite Kyle Rittenhouse, George Zimmerman, or ole girl who shot the guy in his apartment and the brother asked her for a hug. 2. First, I think Karmelo had a terrible defense attorney. You could tell that from the very beginning when he allowed an all white jury sat. That is NOT a “jury of his peers” purely based on race. 3. We MUST teach our children and pray over them to be in control of their emotions because a temporary bad choice can lead to a permanent terrible consequence. 4. All the internet activists and others saying this is a race thing is merely gaslighting black folks. I heard Jasmine Crocket’s remarks saying this was a failure of “the system” because he only stabbed him once and it was at the wrong place in his chest. HUH??!!! I’m paraphrasing but c’mon!!!??? 🤔5. Why didn’t he just leave the tent? Had he, he would have his freedom. 6. Most importantly from my perspective as a mother, the Metcalfs lost their son. The Anthonys can go and see their son….hug him and touch him; the Metcalfs can only visit their baby in the graveyard. Lord have mercy!7. Karmelo could’ve faced a sentence of 5-99. He got 35 years and only has to do 50% of it before he’s eligible for parole. That seems like a pretty good deal to me given that he TOOK A LIFE! 8. I hate this for both families. It’s my understanding that Karemelo was a high achieving student (3.7GPA), captain of the football and track teams. He had a bright future ahead. And the way that baby wept when the verdict came down…..my Lord! Going into prison in his prime will dictate everything that comes after. That’s even if he makes it out alive. Two lives were lost. It’s so INCREDIBLY sad. I’ve prayed all day for both of the families. 😢😢😢I’m open to receiving commentary from those that do and don’t agree with me. If you feel that I’m misguided in some way, please share, but these are my initial thoughts and I would be remiss if I didn by @alfie.walter

The @cityofcleveland “Senior Day” is a national holiday…who knew!!?? How heartwarming to witness the community, the joy, the fun….oh WOW, so SPECIAL! The day was a celebration of our wise elders with an information fair, vendors, live entertainment, complimentary lunch, honoree awards, and the added bonus, EVERY senior left with a grocery bag full of fresh produce sponsored by the @clefoodbank. Pride is such an understated adjective to describe my feeling of serving this most special event. #CLE #CityofCleveland #ThaLand #service by @alfie.walter
