La nieta de Toño Bicicleta, La Infanta Antonia by @alfonsony
🪆🎨 Before Alfonso Muñoz Alma ( @alfonsony ) was an artist, he was a queer kid building dollhouses out of things other people threw away. That detail alone tells you why A DOLL’S HOUSE ( @adollshousedoc ) is worth watching. The film invites us into the imagination behind Alfonso’s work and shows how the freedom he found creating as a child never really disappeared. Today, that same instinct allows him to take familiar imagery and rebuild it on his own terms, placing Puerto Rican women and LGBTQ+ figures into spaces where they have often been absent. There’s something beautiful about watching discarded objects become little worlds, and then watching that childhood imagination grow into an artistic voice. Come meet the artist behind those worlds. 🗓️ Saturday, October 10 | 1:30 PM 📍 Koubek Center, Miami 🎬 The Memory of Places (La memoria de los lugares) 🎟️ Tickets on sale now. 🎬 A DOLL’S HOUSE 🇵🇷✨ What if the objects we play with as children become the foundation for the art we create as adults? A Doll’s House ( @adollshousedoc ) introduces us to Puerto Rican multidisciplinary artist Alfonso Muñoz Alma ( @alfonsony ), whose childhood imagination—building dollhouses and fantastical scenes from discarded objects—grew into an artistic practice that challenges traditional visual culture. Directed by José Vélez Arocho and José Alameda, the documentary explores how Puerto Rican women and the LGBTQ+ community have shaped Alfonso’s life and work, and how his art creates space for people historically left outside traditional narratives. 🇵🇷 Come experience A Doll’s House on the big screen as part of La memoria de los lugares (The Memory of Places) at HHFF 2026. 🗓️ Saturday, October 10 🕜 1:30 PM 📍 Koubek Center, Miami 🎟️ Tickets are on sale now! 🔗 Link in bio.
