We just put a bow on an amazing magnificent fantastical weekend at the legendary @santorecording with @jasonkick where I pumped my little heart out in clogs on an organ that was once used by Green Day according to the lore. It’s an honor to play with these great musicians/friends and I’m excited to share a snapshot of this incarnation of the Al Harper band someday probably pretty soon! by @alharper

Plaster of Paris is out now! Thank you to @post_trash_ for premiering this vid and for taking the time to count the number of parts in the song (about seven):

“Plaster of Paris” is a track that starts sunny and only gets sunnier, but the opening measures might make you think it’s simpler than it really is. Not long after establishing the simple, driving rhythm section, Harper’s voice glides in among sparkling synths that fill out the harmony and quickly elevate the track into indie pop elegance. Depending on how you count it, the song has up to seven sections that are all catchy enough to be the chorus, but none more than Harper’s sweetly harmonized hook of “no pictures, no pictures please.” Bright guitar and bass hooks counter her vocal melodies all throughout the track, while the rhythm guitar and drums keep pushing up against the song in a way that’s forceful, but never to the point of detracting from the airiness of the tune."

Read the whole thing at link in bio :)

Thank you also to @simonvlinsteadt for the beautiful editing, @jasonkick for bass, drums, synth, mixing, co-producing and being patient, @matthewbarnhart for mastering, @tonytonijay for the camera, and @craigbarclift for being my creative confidant and co-cameraman by @alharper

Let Me Be is out today!! TYSM @austintownhall and @nathanlankford for premiering this video and for the sweet write-up!! It is truly surreal to spend so much time making something and finally get to share it, link in bio to listen/watch/read…..

In 2021 I told @jasonkick that I wanted to make a song that sounded like Wings and Dolly Parton, I think we pulled it off TBH!! Many thanks to @garrett_barley for added guitar on this one, and @matthewbarnhart for mastering.

The vid is directed by the great @simonvlinsteadt with *unmatched* choreography by Logan Kroeber and styling by @brittzacko , who drove a bunch of amazing clothes to an empty parking lot and let us go to town. I never had more fun in my life than dancing with my friends in the Alameda naval yard. Thank you @laniwild @more.lunch.money @laurajeannapkins @chairdad @ainsernetpresence and #omarnegrete for bringing your A game, and also my honey @craigbarclift for getting shots of me all over Kern County. And also @tonytonijay for letting us borrow that infamous handycam. Come dance the dance in person 2/29 at @theestorkcluboakland !!!

Are you ready for the next Total Accord Fest show?? Big local energy is coming to the @cafedunord stage this Wednesday June 10! This will be show #6 of the festival. 💫

With heavy hitters @ellieisgrooblen @heavens__club @alharper @tucheetta 🌟🌟🌟🌟

It’s not every day you see a line up of independent, local Bay Area artists playing the same show at Du Nord, and we are super lucky to be given the opportunity! It’s Total Accord’s first time doing a show like this at this venue, so it will be one for the books.

This one is for the industry folks who have a night off and want to have some fun! But don’t worry, this run of show will not keep you out too late for those rocking a 9-5 job 😉 Let’s keep proving that week nights are still LIT in the city!

See you there ✨ Ticket link in bio ✨ taken in Cafe Du Nord by @alharper

Total Accord Fest is back June 3rd through 20th at venues throughout San Francisco, with artists like Brijean and The Seshen plus a stacked local lineup. We’re breaking down all 13 shows and why they matter.

One of the best snapshots of just how much range the Bay has right now is happening Wednesday, June 10th at Cafe Du Nord, where Grooblen, Heaven’s Club, Al Harper, and tucheeta share the bill.

Grooblen opens a portal right away. Psychedelic cabaret, dream pop, something theatrical and surreal, but still grounded in real emotion. It’s a full-band experience that feels a little unhinged in the best way.

Heaven’s Club pulls things into a darker, more expansive space. Post-punk edges, hazy atmosphere, and a sense of tension that builds and releases without ever fully settling.

Al Harper brings it back to something warm and human. There’s folk, there’s country in the bones, but it stretches outward into something more cosmic and reflective, tied together by a voice that really holds your attention.

And tucheetta threads it all together with something softer but just as immersive. Electronic textures, intimate songwriting, and a kind of emotional clarity that lingers.

If you want one night that covers a lot of ground without feeling scattered, this is it.

We’re playing a benefit in honor of Melissa this Sunday 10/26. So grateful I had the pleasure of playing music with her a few times - we’re gonna celebrate and rock for her as she rocked for us. Please come out and help us make some money for cancer research because no one should have to go through what she did for so long, she was tough as nails with a heart of gold and she will be missed forever 💛🌹 taken in Make-Out Room by @alharper
