okay get ready for a longer caption, because this place and these people mean more to me than i can explain in something short. i couldn’t make just ONE post; this experience was too near and dear to my heart. i’ve never felt such PURE HAPPINESS anywhere else. it’s not just the place and the people, it’s the energy. it deserves infinite praise and recognition. everyone from this community comes from different walks of life, but we’re all so similar internally simply because we are humans experiencing this earth at the same time. (being this age in this society is no small feat. and of all the people that i could have shared this space with, i’m happy it was them.) the people i’ve surrounded myself during this weekend have made such a tremendous impact on me in such a short period of time. the team building activities that we participated during this session were so eye-opening to me, and i’ve never felt more safe to put myself out there and speak in front of a crowd. we foster a sense of profound belonging that i’ve never felt in any other association i’ve ever involved myself in, and i’m so happy i found my second home here. i love how quickly ryla brings people together. it has such a tendency to expedite new connections and deepen previously established bonds. the people i’ve interacted with here are some of the most unapologetically authentic, talented, intelligent, accomplished, funny, and honest people i’ve ever come into contact with. it’s crazy to watch them grow into such sophisticated, articulate leaders. i’m so proud of everyone. i’ve gained so much wisdom over the past few days, and i’m excited to practice all i’ve learned in my daily life to help me become a better leader— not only for the purpose of raising myself up, but to help me raise others up as well. i’m proud to admit that ryla has been the most rewarding experience of my life, and i hope that everyone can have something that brings them as much joy and growth as ryla brings to me. here’s to continuing to advance and committing to do better every day alongside all of my lovely peers—who have treated me with nothing but support, kindness, respect, and hearty enthusiasm. 💙🧡🩵🩷 @ryla7255 taken in The Retreat at Norwich Lake by @ali.digi23

this time of year is a huge pride checkpoint for me, so here’s my recognition of that. around this time last year, i was about to leave school on extended medical leave for my mental health— & on top of that, i had js recently lost a few people; to death, to fights, & to natural distance. i’ve worked inexplicably hard to get where i am, & i’m insanely thankful to have reached this point of stability & productivity in my life. soo yea, here’s a reminder to put urself first n do whatever u gotta do to dig urself outta that hole. resilience isn’t the ability to never collapse after u’ve been struck down, it’s the rapidity of the time it takes to come back up. life is as beautiful as u make it. every day, u gotta make a conscious decision to choose urself and ur improvement over the comfort of familiar patterns. also, october is depression awareness month for any1 who didn’t know. u matter. u are loved. go hug all ur friends by @ali.digi23
