We’re so proud to celebrate our partnership with ALIA and see Spring Safe Storytime being delivered at more than 600 locations across Australia! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

We absolutely LOVE seeing the photos, videos and stories coming in from local events β€” children reading, singing, learning and having fun while discovering some very important water safety messages. πŸ’™

By bringing water safety into Storytime, we can start these important conversations with children and families in a fun, engaging and memorable way.

How Does Your State or Territory Rank?πŸ€”

Voting has opened for ABC Radio National's Top 100 Australian Book countdown, and early stats show the ACT leading the charge with the most amount of votes so far!

There's nothing quite like some healthy competition so to help promote the campaign and keep the votes climbing in all states and territories, we'd love libraries to:

πŸ“Έ Send us a photo of any Top 100 displays you have in your library and Radio National will share them on their social media channels!

πŸ’Œ Photos can be sent to media@alia.org.au

⁉ The 5-second prompt: Ask borrowers, β€œHave you voted in the Top 100 Australian Books yet?”

A quick mention at the loans desk can go a long way β€” after all, librarians are trusted voices when it comes to books. by @alianational

πŸ“šπŸ’¦ β€œThis is a rhyming story!” πŸ’¦πŸ“š

We LOVE this little moment! πŸ₯°

At the launch of Spring Safe Storytime at Chermside Library, ALIA President Lisa Bateman joined us to read a Kids Alive story β€” and one very clever little listener was quick to point out that it rhymes! πŸ‘βœ¨

What an amazing example of the literacy understanding children are developing from such a young age.

That’s exactly why we love Spring Safe Storytime. Stories are fun, memorable and powerful. They help build early literacy skills while giving us the perfect opportunity to introduce important water safety messages. πŸ“–πŸ’§

Read. Rhyme. Learn. Stay safe. πŸ’™

Because when water safety becomes part of the stories children hear, those messages can stick for life.

πŸ“šπŸ’¦ Spring Safe Storytime is coming soon β€” it’s about learning, connecting and keeping children safe.

Reading together helps build language, literacy, imagination and a lifelong love of books. It also gives us a powerful way to introduce important messages to young children in a fun and memorable way.

That’s why Spring Safe Storytime, with the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), brings the joy of reading together with essential water safety education.

Through stories, songs and shared conversations, children can begin learning about staying safe around pools, beaches and waterways β€” while celebrating all the wonderful benefits that come from reading together. πŸ“–πŸŒŠ

Read together. Learn together. Stay safe together.
