ALBUM ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

I’m incredibly excited to announce my forthcoming album ‘Coalesce’ Out sept 18.

The album was written just prior to and after the birth of my daughter Freja. After the reception of ‘Into the Doldrums’, and having a second child on the way, I was nervous about how hard it would be to find meaningful time to make new music and release it independently, but this album came together during one of the most deeply inspiring creative ruptures of my career and I couldn’t be happier with what it became.

It was such an honour collaborating with supremely talented friends of mine Alia, Lili and Olive on tracks across the record.

You can now pre-order the album and vinyl via the link in bio. Thank you all for your support in allowing me to do what I love ❤️

Naarm/Melbourne-based artist Now Always Fades returns with Coalesce, the follow-up to his widely acclaimed 2025 album Into The Doldrums. The project of Xavier Bacash, Coalesce sees the musician evolving his modernised approach to downtempo and trip-hop, genres in which he has been heralded as a leading new voice amid their growing popularity.

Across the record, NAF’s musical and thematic universe expands with the return and addition of a series of new vocal collaborators, speaking to the versatility of a voice as a contextual instrument. In doing so, throughout ‘Coalesce’, he continues to develop a kind of sonic consistency that focuses on shared emotion above all else.

In pursuing those feelings, Now Always Fades finds himself alongside a series of strong and soulful voices: Alia Seror-O’Neill of a.s.o, otherwise known as Alias Error; Lili Hall, no stranger to now always fades with her vocals on Into The Doldrums, Mindflower; and Olive Kimoto, NTS Radio host and singer behind influential 90s band Locust.

Throughout the record, each vocalist finds themselves on tracks entirely for them, and in doing so, the NAF project provides everyone involved, and the listener, with something sonically new but emotionally familiar at every turn.

It’s exciting to let this one out into the world, ‘Faceless Angel’ featuring the vocals of Alia Seror-O’Neill aka @alias.error

Late last year a mutual friend of ours @krisbaha mentioned to me the idea of connecting Alia and I as she was moving back to Australia. Being a big fan of Alia’s work, I immediately had 2 tracks in mind that I thought would be the perfect fit as I was working on a new album. Sometimes timing is everything.

Alia came down to Naarm in late January, and across two intense days of writing and recording, we managed to capture a wonderful creative synergy. Faceless Angel showcases Alia’s seminal and spellbinding vocals and lyrics and I’m super grateful to Alia for trusting and working with me. Thank you also to @ex____ponto____ for this incredible video and @wnsalu for the timeless artwork.

“Was he a beast, that music could move him so? He felt as if the way to the unknown nourishment he longed for were coming to light.”

Rich atmospheres and angelic vocals meet blast beats and anguished shrieks, lead by Berlin via Sydney’s Alias Error – a singer, songwriter and DJ known for her eponymous and timeless debut album ‘a.s.o’ released to critical acclaim in 2023. Alia’s signature hypnotic vocals speak of restraint and release, moving fluidly from the elegiac to the euphoric. Collaborations with RIP Swirl, JASSS & James K have further cemented her position as an uncompromising star spanning effortlessly between ethereal dream-pop to the more moodier corners of electronic spaces. taken in Wyola Club by @alias.error

𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓪𝓼 𝓮𝓻𝓻𝓸𝓻 ⋆ 𝓵𝓲𝓿𝓮

we are so happy to be welcoming @alias.error, Friday 27th @miscellania_

alias error drifts between worlds - a singer, songwriter and dj shaping sound through feeling, tension and release.

as one half of a.s.o., her 2023 debut marked an acclaimed arrival, followed by collaborations with RIP Swirl and JASSS - her voice threading through each with a kind of hypnotic pull.

moving between ethereal dream-pop and darker, more cerebral electronic spaces, her work feels both intimate and expansive - soft edges meeting something deeper underneath.

with her debut solo record on the horizon, alias error continues to unfold a world entirely her own ⋆

Thank you so much to @claireohbehave for having me play @odeodeodeodeode at @miscellania_ last week. It was a beautiful night. Very grateful to the supportive and loving audience, who very patiently and kindly stuck around whilst I, with the help of the lovely and helpful Miscellania Audio tech - Bensin, managed to troubleshoot some Ableton fuckery. My heart is so full and at peace 🩷🩷🩷🩷 Looking forward to playing next in Perth at @arrival.fest on June 4th xx by @alias.error
