Welcome to family photography! My sweet spot. I have been photographing families professionally the longest out of any niche. I’ve got some pretty amazing super powers when it comes to families.
1: I’ve got a big loud voice and I’m not afraid to use it to get attention, make crazy noises, sound like a fool in a crowded area to get those smiles and laughs
2: I work fast and efficiently to make sure we get those genuine smiles but stop before anyone gets burnt out of taking photos and starts to get grumpy.
3: I make these sessions FUN! I want you and your family to laugh, giggle, break formation and just be your amazing selves in whatever shape and form you come in.
4: I can always tell when a smile isn’t genuine. I know when to push to get one and I know when the cause is lost before things get awkward and uncomfortable.
5: I know your time is so valuable! So I’m upfront with what you’ll get with me and I deliver images when I say they’ll be delivered. No waiting around for months to see your images…
6: Finally, I know you already know a million other photographers and we might not be a good fit right now. So just hit the follow because I’ll share tips that could help you out and maybe we’ll be a good fit in the future!

Sprinkling in some updated food photography photos. Being a food photographer is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Being able to walk into a restaurant or shop and create images for you that are fun and exciting and get your people excited to try your food is what I live for!

You’ve done all the hard work making the food, creating those recipes, now it’s time to sit back and let me make it look fantastic to help bring in hungry diners.

Don’t setting for sup par food photos after putting in so much hard work. Your food deserves better and I know you’ve got so much on your “plate”, wouldn’t it be nice to hand something off as important as your visual messaging??

If you think I’m not up for whimsy and absolutely putting my foot on the gas for photos you are absolutely wrong.

When a client a little sheepishly tells me they brought costumes to their family my response will always be an over the top heck yes!!

Making memories with your family and documenting in along the way is and always should be the goal. Not the perfect family photo.

Perfect looks different for every family and I’m so happy that I get to create something different for each one.

I never shared my images from my workshop this summer! I still think about how much I learned over those two days. It was so refreshing and energizing being around fellow creatives that all had a passion for food photography. There was a lot of chit chatting but once the demos started we were firing off questions so fast I’m so impressed @thebiteshot was able to keep up with us all!

People ask me all the time what’s my favorite thing to photograph and without thought I always say food. Probably because I enjoy eating so much but I find the shapes and colors and the way they bring people together just the most endlessly fascinating thing.

Do you dread taking family photos??

Honestly… me too. It’s awkward, I don’t know what to do with my hands, I’m questioning my outfit, one of my eyes looks bigger than the other if my head is turned a different way… blah!

Convincing you that family photos with me can actually be fun is going to be hard but I’m going to try anyway!

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve gotten a text from a mom telling me how much fun the kids AND dad had at one of our sessions. Mom is so floored that she’s texting me “the kids are asking me when we can do that again?!”

How is that possible? A lot of it comes down to time doing this. I’ve been taking family photos for well over 15 years. But it’s also just my personality that bleeds into my style of photography. I just love laughing and having fun. And that’s not everyone’s style let me tell you.
All photographers are unique but that’s just how I like to run my sessions.

Doing the thing I love has not been an easy road!

I am so happy when any client books me especially if it involves any kind of food 😜

I was just at a menu shoot for a client and they asked what I liked what I didn’t like, allergies, etc and I said I just love it all. There’s literally nothing out there I won’t eat. Whatever the opposite of picky eater is that’s me.
