🦵My backpack and I 🦵 in Mexico 🇲🇽 for 11 days

Very happy that I get to spend time with new and old friends in this trip, and test the limit of my solo-travel ability. Until next time! 🫡💖

My grandma teased me once, when I was a kid, for carrying my heavy bag with me even long after I got home. It was a black PU leather bag with a cute cartoon figure, possibly a Hello Kitty. I told her I felt comfortable and having the bag on me made me feel ready, and the heaviness did not bother me. To be honest, I don’t remember why I did that. Kids just do funny things. But it continues to ring true; the story between my backpack and me continues, in different ways and timelines. I put an assortment of things in my bag, and I embark on a journey to a destination of my choice, everyday. And I hope that I remember this, in and out this trip, that I have, and I will, whenever and wherever I want to. by @alicexhhs

What a feeling to hear this song being played and get to dance to it and make tie breaker at @seattlefrankenfunk hiphop music battle.

The pack 🐺 @brucethealmighty @kidd_piccolo206 immediately knew when the beat dropped and were bouncing off the wall with this one - the energy you gave was unreal. Thank you teacher @brucethealmighty for your ongoing support, insights and education. Thank you @kidd_piccolo206 for sharing your knowledge and battle videos- we were literally watching @draemt4w and G Child’s rounds to this song before the battle, and I learning the connection between them. So imagine my surprise when I heard this song being played. Thank you DJ @hiphopotamus_ for dropping this banger (Gold Shine by @projectpat ) 🎶❤️‍🔥

Thank you @drrico901 for your teaching online, and in Montreal just a month before this happen. I have a very long way to go and learn the culture and vocabulary - in the meantime I’m grateful for all the joy and love received and experienced through learning this style.

@drrico901 you are an amazing teacher and have such a way to channel the energy in the room for us to feel the cultural context of Memphis Jookin. I appreciate your teaching so much. It’s such a privilege to get to watch you dance in person too.
@draemt4w your energy and movement are absolutely unreal and your spontaneous video idea before I head to airport is ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥✨✨✨! You are so funny too! This workshop is absolutely a highlight and I wish wish wish I could have stayed for the whole week. I look forward to seeing you two again, hopefully one day in Vancouver 🇨🇦

Made it to top 16 tutting battle hosted by @comicc_k @shapinseattle shoutout to comic for organizing this amazing event

I have always found tutting interesting and mesmerizing but often felt like I don’t have the patience and creativity to go for it. Appreciate Strobe for putting me straight into top 16 - I was gagged when Comic/MC said my name. Not often we have moments that give us pleasant surprises and opportunities to showcase our love and hard work and whimsy, and I appreciate all the moments we collected over this weekend. It would not have happened if it is not because of everyone who showed up. by @alicexhhs

May 2025, everything comes to an eruption.

Dance, oh dance. Even though I rant about popping to anyone who would listen, it, alongside other styles, has given me an avenue to express, after ignited some unexplainable passion within me. I am forever grateful for dancing and all the beautiful people I have met through this journey.

The past few months have been a lot. Sometimes I forget to take a pause to be in awe of this art we call living, unfolding before me.

Here is to all the fleeting moments we share together, dancing away, and may we continue to love and celebrate this life in the best ways we know how. by @alicexhhs
