Part 2: Yesterday marked the end of a 9 year journey (7 for most). From being waitlisted and rejected numerous times my first round of applying to being accepted by many PT schools on my second round. God is so good! Yesterday I graduated with my degree from FranU as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Literally the definition of never give up on your dreams!! So thankful for my family, girlfriend, extended family, friends, FranU staff, and all those who’ve supported me throughout this long long long journey!

Now my new journey begins. I get to practice in the career that I’ve dreamt of having since my first encounter with it. There is no specific key to success because it all lies within you!

Today I was the guest speaker at the yearly Back To School Bash in my hometown. My focus was to give everyone a little background on not only how I became a doctor of physical therapy & what physical therapy is, but also to encourage and congratulate the youth on advancing to the next school year. I got to see a lot of my former teachers/coaches which brought back so many memories & reminded me of the importance of education. Thank you all for inviting me & entrusting me with contributing to the children’s futures. Never knew I could want something so badly. Never knew I had this much will and passion deep inside of me. Yes I’ve always been smart & yes I’ve already accomplished so much.. but most don’t know that academically I’ve always had to work hard for it! From applying to PT school 2 years in a row & receiving multiple rejections, to the moment I failed my first attempt on my PT board exam by 3 points, to this moment right here. I worked so hard for this moment.

Thank you to God because without him this mission would have been impossible! This last year has been the hardest of my life, the past 3 months specifically. I felt so heartbroken and disappointed in myself for not passing my first attempt.. but this makes up for it all. Tears of joy is all I can truly express.

Thanks to my girlfriend also for being by my side day and night motivating me, challenging me, & supporting me in several other ways. Literally holding me down. I love you so much & all your intentionality!!😘 & I can’t forget my Mama, sisters, MIL, sisters in law, friends, coworkers, professors, & other peers that have helped me tremendously along this long long journey.
Everything given or said has not gone unnoticed 🫶🏾

S/o to all the platforms that have helped me to see this PASSED result as well - PT Hustle (Kyle Rice), TrueLearn, Final Frontier, Therapy Ed, Typical PT, & PT Final Exam!

I can truly say all the stress, sweat, & tears have been worth it! This is my testimony 🩷🙏🏾
