❤️🧚‍♀️🪻 ROUGE at work // fragments of the research. ROUGE started as an investigation on incest, trauma and silence. My first attempt to write about the project was this : Quelqu’un te frappe à la joue et tu ne dis rien. Le sang afflue, ta peau chauffe et se pigmente. Ta joue devient rouge mais tu te tais. Tu as mal, mais tu te tais. Tu te tais, mais tu frémis, tu rougis. Tu es en rage, tu es en nage avec ta colère sourde et tu te noies. Tu balbuties, tu cherches des mots, comme des bouées, mais rien ne sort. Tu cherches le large, la terre ferme, mais tu bois la tasse encore et encore. C’est salé, c’est chaud, ça brûle. Tu t’enfonces, tu crois étouffer dans ton silence, mais ton corps lutte, encore et encore. Tes bras s’agitent, tes jambes battent la mesure, ton cœur chante, ta bouche appelle l’air, et tu sors la tête hors de l’eau, le visage en feu. Tu sors. Et tu souris. Tout ton être te brûle mais tu ris, car tu sais que ça va être un grand feu de joie. ENG Someone hits you on the cheek and you say nothing. The blood rushes to your head, your skin heats up and darkens. Your cheek turns red but you remain silent. You’re in pain, but you’re silent. You’re silent, but you shudder, you blush. You’re enraged, you’re sweating with your simmering anger and you’re drowning. You stammer, you search for words, like lifebuoys, but nothing comes out. You search for open water, for dry land, but you swallow water again and again. It’s salty, it’s hot, it burns. You sink, you think you’re suffocating in your silence, but your body fights back, again and again. Your arms thrash about, your legs keep time, your heart sings, your mouth gasps for air, and you lift your head above water, your face ablaze. You come out. And you smile. Your whole being is burning, but you laugh because you know it’s going to be a great bonfire. 🫀🪻🧚‍♀️ I am very happy to have participated in this campaign, which celebrates FLINTA voices, with my dear poem. Thank you @alte_muenze and thank you to all the writers that have shared some pieces of their perspective and inner world, they were very compelling and heart warming to read. « FLINTA* Voices create space to speak without restriction, without dilution, and without apology. We opened our platform to FLINTA* writers and creators who confront and redefine gendered realities, who understand empowerment not as a trend, but as necessity, and who expose patriarchy not as abstraction, but as lived experience » Here underneath, you’ll find three other short poems I feel like sharing in connection with what this FLINTA voices space and celebration evokes in me. A taste of empowering imagination and creativity. A taste of courage and vulnerability, of love and tenderness, of pain and joy and humor, and a sense of solidarity and togetherness. I hope. I hope. 🪻 Time to dance. Time to accept this whole « survival strategies » layer. Time to accept it maybe, as a swimming pool where I had to be in, and learn how not to drown. Time to accept it, and learn how to swim. Time to focus on learning how to swim, how to do that dance. Time to focus on the dance itself, and let the « not drowning part » be there somewhere, maybe softly and gently, as a part of the water, and maybe time to savor and enjoy it, as a part of the water. Time to swim somewhere else. Time to go swim in the pond. And then in the lake. In the sea. In the ocean. 🪻 Last March, I faced a knee injury, and on the 30th of March, I got operated. My medial meniscus was sutured. I want to live a life with an open heart. I want to look for space, spaciousness and openness. However and wherever. In and out. Big and small. Visible and invisible. Did my knee tell me that ? Maybe. Maybe not. But for sure, while attempting to stay « physically active » and while attempting to move with and through whatever is there, I heard it say : « Enjoy what is » It has also said nothing, and I find it both cruel and beautiful, both uncomfortable and comfortable, both attractive and repulsive, to (try and) meet with some sort of silence. Perhaps… « Enjoy the silence, even though it doesn’t exist » 🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻 PS : a word is both fantastic and terrible, it opens worlds and closes worlds, and so do our minds… 🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻 by @alienor_hh

CONTAINER # 5 - MEET THE ARTISTS We are wicked happy to finally have the artist Aliénor H join a container.. She will be performing her latest invention, BÊTE ET LA BEAUTÉ. Warning. She has fangs and claws and a strong appetite. She will lick you, bite you, maybe eat you. Especially if you want to come inside her… cage. She will keep you safe and warm. You might only lose your freedom. You might even enjoy it. Always remember to see the beauty in the beast. Violence is sexy pour toujours. Happy never after ? XoXo Dwelling on my unsettling souvenir of a relatively unknown Belgian carnival somewhere deep in Wallonia (Le Carnaval des Ours in Andenne) and on the folk tale La Belle et la Bête, this performance opens with a question : what happens to the female monstrous characters in the stories ? Aliénor graduated in theatre and acting from ESACT in Liège and continues to train in various physical disciplines, including dance and martial arts. 
She engages in a wide range of artistic experiences both in Belgium and abroad, spanning experimental theater, circus, dance, and performance. Over the years, she has collaborated with artists and companies such as Clinic Orgasm Society, Anne Thuot, Renelde Pierlot, Petri Dish, Le Corridor, Liesbet Hermans, Studio d’Action Théâtrale, Monia Montali & François Bodeux, and David Zambrano. 
She is currently working on her first solo creation, Rouge, which has received support from various institutions (FWB, Factory ...). Alongside her performance work, she also explores writing in its many forms, as well as improvisation and singing.
