The people closest to you make up a percentage of who you become, and moments like this remind me how grateful I am for my circle. I get to call Nay one of my best friends, but truthfully, she’s family to me. 💕

Nay, I am so incredibly proud of you for writing your very first book, Blood Money! We gathered around the table, ate a delicious breakfast, shared good laughs like we always do, and celebrated the fact that you had the courage to turn an idea into something real.

Eleven years ago, God blessed me with you, and being your mother has been one of His greatest gifts. Lately, I’ve been noticing all the little ways you’re becoming such a thoughtful young man. You hold doors open for me, and fuss at me if I even try to touch them! 😂 You take the time to groom yourself properly and put on your cologne every morning. You even stop me before we cross the street so you can look both ways and make sure it’s safe. 🥹💙

True success to me isn’t measured by how much I accomplish, it’s keeping God first and trusting Him to keep me in perfect peace as I balance this beautiful thing called life. 🤍

My baby girl is officially 12 years old! A whole preteen! 🥹💕
