Hey 👋🏼.

I’m Francesca. Burnt out corporate girlie pursuing a life more aligned to my body, mind and soul.

Throughout my career so far I’ve always felt that something didn’t quite “fit”. I’ve poured my heart into my corporate role and been promoted. I’ve overworked to the detriment of my physical and mental health. The recognition and validation I’ve received has kept me stuck.

This misalignment has manifested itself in physical symptoms: IBS, headaches, anxiety, fainting and exhaustion. I’ve pushed myself to do what I “should” be doing rather than following my intuition, listening to my body or believing in myself.

It is this experience that led me to complete my MSc in occupational health psychology and, more recently, training to be an accredited coach.

I firmly believe that misalignment between our thoughts, values, words and actions can show up both mentally and physically.

Follow along for the unfiltered journey of me reclaiming my power, letting go of the constant need for achievement and (hopefully) helping other women to do the same.

You know something in your career needs to change but you have no idea where to start.

You’re not sure what your strengths or skills are or how to articulate these to other people.

And your work drains you so much that by the end of the week you’re exhausted and you don’t have the energy to look at other jobs or research a new career.

Something feels off but you can’t name it exactly what that is. But whatever it is, you know deep down this isn’t the life you are meant to live.

You ask your friends and family for advice but they just reassure you that you’ve got a great job - you’re lucky! Maybe you just need a holiday?

But even after a few days a way, the way you feel doesn’t change.

This is why I’ve decided to offer a private 1:1 in person day where we redesign your career together. We will map out the career patterns holding you back, define your individual skills and strengths and create a solid plan for you to take action right away.

This isn’t a 3 month commitment for you to still feel confused at the end. It’s one dedicated day with useful unbiased advice helping you to move forwards now.

I also believe that this should be a fun and creative process - no boring windowless room with an out of touch career advisor - think sea views, coffee on the terrace and a sauna and cold plunge to finish.

More details are on my website but please send me a DM if you’d like to discuss what this could look like for you. I’m offering this in Brighton initially with an option to tailor to London as well.

What is it like to attend a slow builders club event? Hear from our latest guests 💁🏼‍♀️

It makes me so happy to watch this because it is exactly why I set up the @slowbuildersclub community. To connect thoughtful, ambitious and inspiring women who want to do work differently and build careers on their terms.

Thank you to @lilaand.co for capturing the event, @suzie_hogan_ for hosting and to our incredible panel speakers @bytorilutz and @gabrielaflax for sharing their wisdom and different perspectives on building a portfolio career.

But mostly thank you to the women who showed up and bought tickets. It’s not easy entering a room on your own, but I hope you left with some great ideas, some new women in your corner and motivation to take the next step 🙋🏼‍♀️.

If you would like to be the first to know about the next event, join the @slowbuildersclub WhatsApp group. Link in bio.

Incredibly excited to announce the next @slowbuildersclub event in London**💁🏼‍♀️

Join us on 29th September where I will be hosting a panel discussion with the wonderful @gabrielaflax and @bytorilutz on whether they think “portfolio careers” are the future of work. Hear from them on their successful and varied careers and how they got to where they are now.

Expect a welcoming and inclusive event full of women thinking differently about their careers, whether that’s pivoting into something more meaningful, building something of their own or redesigning how they work.

No pressure to “network” or have it all figured out. This is a safe space for women who get it.

Drinks and nibbles included 🎫

The last event sold out so be quick 😉.

A few thoughts from me on recent conversations I’ve had with women in the early stages of building something new.

And why I think it can be problematic to over glamourise quitting without a back up plan 💁🏼‍♀️

Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. by @alignwithfrancesca

You’ll often hear me talk about a “portfolio career” and how I genuinely believe this is the future of work, especially for women.

It’s exciting because we’ve always been told to work hard, climb the ladder, and we would be rewarded for our loyalty.

But the truth is, we have witnessed our parents being made redundant, we got hit with huge student debts, we survived a global pandemic and now AI has led to constant “transformations”, “restructures” and “hiring freezes”.

So it’s no wonder we’re all a little… skeptical.

A portfolio career is exciting because it gives women more freedom, more control and more opportunities. It also forces us to be visible, know our worth and set clear and firm boundaries. All important life lessons no?

Whilst we continue to hear that the job market is terrible right now, I believe this could also be the perfect opportunity for women to redesign their careers and diversify their income to create more joy and autonomy in their work.

If you’re interested what this could look like for you, comment “CLARITY” and I’ll send you the link to book in a free intro call with me. by @alignwithfrancesca

And just like that the slow builders club launched ❤️‍🔥.

And I’m totally blown away by the calibre of women in the room.

We had exited start up founders looking for their next co-founder.

We had women who’d worked all over the world with billionaires on private islands wanting more work life balance.

We had AI leaders looking to pivot into travel content creation.

Such an inspiring evening spending time with a group of women who all had one thing in common: wanting to feel more aligned in their work.

Thank you to our guest speaker @withlivy_ showing us that this is all possible.

Stay tuned for the next slow builders club in London announced soon 👀.
