dear angels, i always felt like the bad seed. like there was something rotten in me that everyone else could see.

so i’d deprive myself of sleep and what i need. i’d run and run until my knees grew weak. i became a shell of a girl, but for once they called me pretty. it was like a drug to me.

i’ve been in recovery for 6 years. i would be lying if i said i wasn’t tempted to turn back at times.

when it’s the dead of night. and it’s just me. my mirror. and my eyes. but i already know the price. so i write. i write and i cry. and i let the urge pass me by.

“slick sweat” is the product of one of those nights.

“i was good” is yours .✦ ݁˖ this is an altar for the sweet pure thing i once was. i was eager to please and so good at depriving myself of what i need.
but the damage is irreparable. the ache in my knees and the fear in my spine will stay with me for the rest of my life. but once, oh once i was so good at being good.
