‘Ote’a Arioi……

During the season of abundance, known in ancient Polynesia as Te Tau ‘Auhune (roughly beginning around November 20th with the rising of the Pleiades constellation, Matari’i i ni’a), the ‘Arioi acted as a traveling society of performers, priests, and ambassadors who celebrated the bounty of the land and sea. “Te Here I Raro I te Māramarama” written by our Bro’s Josh Fakava’s Fāmili! Love this song as the theme was Te Ava’e 🌗. The deep navy blue embodies the vast and endless ocean that stretches between two lovers a distance that may separate their bodies, but can never divide their hearts.
The white print reflects the soft glow of moonlight dancing upon the ocean, illuminating the waters and becoming a guiding light that carries their love across the distance.
Our crown, adorned with white, black, and silver stones, represents the moonlit heavens above a reminder that even beneath the darkness of night, the moon continues to shine, watch, and guide.
And draped upon us, our macramé cape represents our tūpuna our ancestors. Like a sacred embrace resting upon our shoulders, they cover us, protect us, and walk beside us in all that we do. Though they may no longer be seen, their presence is woven into who we are, guiding our steps and reminding us that we never journey alone.
From the ocean beneath us, to the moon above us, and our tūpuna surrounding us every piece carries a story of love, guidance, remembrance, and connection.

UTAH WE DID IT. 🌙❤️

Ali’itasi brought home 2nd Place in ‘Ote’a with Te Mārama o Te Here and 3rd Place in Mehura with Te Maramarama o Te Here.

But the placements aren’t what we’ll remember most.

We’ll remember the long rehearsals, sleepless nights, endless costume making, stress, exhaustion, tears, laughter, and the moments we thought we had nothing left to give.

Yet, we pulled through. TOGETHER.

The trophies will sit on a shelf. But the experience, the memories, the relationships we strengthened, and the mana we shared will stay with us.

Material things will never be worth more than the love and relationships we share.

We went to Vegas hoping to leave our mana on that stage. What we didn’t realize was how much this journey would leave its mark on us.

We struggled together. We sacrificed together. We cried, laughed, pushed, and danced together.

And when the lights went down, we realized the greatest thing we brought home wasn’t something we could hold in our hands.

It was the bond between us.
It was our mana.
It was our Fāmili.

That is worth more than any trophy could ever be.

Māuruuru roa, Ali’itasi.
We came home with medals….but more importantly, we came home with each other. 🌙❤️

What a weekend for our Ali’itasi Fam. ❤️

This past weekend, we had the honor of stepping onto the stage at the ‘Ori Tāhiti Las Vegas Competition and this experience became so much more than trophies or placements.

From the Vegas heat, the walk from Wakanda and back 😂, the exhaustion, nerves, sacrifices, late nights, and countless hours of preparation… we pushed through it ALL together.
We brought 19 courageous soloists to that stage, with 8 placing, and every single one of them made us proud simply by having the courage to stand before the Tahitian community and share their ‘Ori.

As a Pupu ‘Ori, we were blessed to receive 3rd Place in Mehura and 2nd Place in ‘Ote’a. 🏆🔥

But what fills our hearts the most is knowing that we did this TOGETHER. Every dancer, drummer, musician, singer, parent, and helping hand played a part.

We walked onto that stage carrying more than choreography we carried our culture, our ancestors, our sacrifices, and each other.

This was OUR moment.
WE ARE ALI’ITASI. ❤️🔥

@aliitasiproductionsllc continues to be blessed—when one door closes, we trust that many more will open. 🙏🏽✨
We are more than a professional Polynesian performing arts group. We are a school, a family, and a place where cultural knowledge, values, music, dance, and traditions are passed on to the next generation.
Our purpose has always been bigger than the stage. It is about preserving what was entrusted to us, building meaningful relationships, and creating a legacy that will continue long after us.
As we teach the next generation, we hope they learn that opportunities may come and go, but the relationships we build, the respect we show, and the bridges we preserve can last a lifetime.
We are grateful for every chapter—those that continue and those that come to an end—because each one prepares us for what is ahead.
We honor where we’ve been, appreciate those who have walked with us, and move forward with purpose. The best is still ahead. 🌺

Ia ora na, everyone! ❤️

My heart is so full, and I’m truly excited to see everyone who has already signed up—and those of you who will be joining us this weekend!

This workshop means a little more to us because it is Ali’itasi’s final fundraiser before we head to Las Vegas to compete in both the ‘Ote’a and Mehura categories. We are blessed to be taking a cast of 46–50 people to represent Hawai‘i and Utah, and I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work, sacrifice, and love our entire Ali’itasi Fāmili has poured into this journey.

I hope you’ll take a little time for yourself and come fill your cup with me. ❤️ Come dance, learn, sweat, laugh, and share in something that means so much to my heart.

I’ll be teaching ‘Ori Tāhiti basics and sharing ways to help you connect more deeply with the movement and style of Tāhiti. We’ll work on strengthening and enhancing your fa’arapu and pā’oti, and I’ll also be teaching our beautiful and powerful ‘Ote’a Arioi!
Whether you’re coming to grow as a dancer, challenge yourself, reconnect with the culture, or simply support our journey to Vegas, your presence means more to us than you know.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in us, support our dancers, and pour love into Ali’itasi. Every registration helps our Fāmili get one step closer to that Vegas stage. 🙏🏽❤️
