Hello hello! I hope this message finds you living your life like the miracle it is. Keep shining bright! ✨⭐️💫 by @alimodica

Hello beautiful people! Now seems like an opportune moment to reintroduce myself as the rate of change in life feels accelerated and it feels like a right time to share. For those new here ~ welcome! For those who have been here with me for a while ~ thank you!

I have used this platform for my fitness career when I was teaching barre and mat Pilates consistently and as I dabbled with virtual fitness. I'm now reimagining what aspects of wellness I want to bring to this space as my teaching is more limited. Especially as my primary career, which has always been my primary focus, requires a new version of me.

In my work at Gilead Sciences, and serving as a community liaison, I see how critical fundamental health practices are for supporting individuals overall health goals. In many ways, the four pillars of wellness that underpin my practical philosophy are influenced from this work.

~ Hydration ~ Nutrition ~ Movement ~ Rest

Overarching these practices is actively living in gratitude and being aligned to a higher power. Now that I am a Director with a greater scope of responsibility, my commitment to these simple but powerful edicts is more important than ever. I'm excited to keep exploring the intersections of my mission driven work, commitment to my principles and standing in the blessings of my life co-created with God.

Please share something you are doing to support your health and wellness. Thanks for being here! by @alimodica

Spain! Sharing scenes from a stunning Sunday in Salamanca. This was day 16 of an incredible 17 day journey to the UK and Spain. This magical town was filled with beauty, charm and warmth. Reflecting on this day fills me with love and gratitude and I am equally thankful for this present moment of life. Extending love and light to you ✨✨ by @alimodica

Revisiting!! Immediately before going bionic, I experienced an amazing trip to Sonoma and Napa. Each time we go it’s a treat and this visit was extra special!! There is such a natural beauty and artistry in the farming and cultivation of wines. The realtionship with the land and the people who care for it it creates magical moments that become treasured memories. We had the absolute best tasting experiences of my life so far because of the beautiful people who shared their passions and expertise of their craft. Joyful!! by @alimodica

Happy Saturday beautiful people!! Today is World Pilates Day! Did you know that this incredible practice was initially called Contrology? In 1929? Joseph Pilates introduced this special type of movement, stretching and breathing exercises. He called them “Contrology” because those exercises had a fundamental principle, which is to let your mind control the muscles.

The six fundamental principles of Pilates are the foundation of this method that can be practiced in various ways. This includes mat work which requires just your own body!. It’s a wonderful way to move the body and breath and to strengthen and lengthen deep musculature, increase flexibility and align the spine. I LOVE mat work and include that in my barre work and instruction. Over the past year, I have been committed to daily reformer workout and it’s a game changer!! What do you want to know about this practice. Let me know!! 🩷 by @alimodica

This is your sign to be BOLD! Take the chance. Make the moment. These are great concepts but how to do it is the question. Good news. The answers begin within. Taking time to assess within is the most critical first step to determine what YOU WANT!! Let’s chat about it… and be BOLD!! 💫 by @alimodica

Magical Martinique!! From the misty mountains to the sunny shoreline, the backdrops for barre were plentiful. Movement every day is foundational for wellness and the ability to maximize the enjoyment of life! This year I have leaned into a reformer Pilates practice. Pilates principles have always been a part of my barre instruction, especially control of the movement , body awareness, flexibility and balance.

The benefits and adaptability based on individual needs makes this form of movement accessible and adaptable. What movement modalities are you excited about currently? What areas of function would you like to improve? Let’s chat in the comments ✨⭐️💫 by @alimodica

NOLA! I took my athleisure out on the town last week in New Orleans and it was a moment!! I adore wearing elevated athleisure for working out and going out? Do you do this? Do you want to? Please share!! by @alimodica

Pause. It’s healthy to take a moment when you need it.

How do you know when that is needed? When you feel stress, anxiety, holding tension, feeling overwhelmed, that’s your body’s way of telling you to pause.

What can you do? Take a few deep breaths, drink a glass of water, think of something you are grateful for, move your body, eat something to nourish your body, rest 🙏🏼

This is a practice which can being right now! Take this moment to notice how you feel. If you need a pause, take it by trying these simple interventions. Please share your experience! All love to you! 🙏🏼♥️ by @alimodica
