Homeschool Tip from a mom who hated math. 😉 I wish I would have known how vital it would be for kids to memorize their math facts. Addition, subtraction, multiplication… I didn’t push hard enough because I thought it would all come together with time. It didn’t. We have had to revisit the foundation, fill gaps and move forward. I’m using a curriculum called Learn Math Fast that does just that. Pray we have some awesome progress. Both my sons are brilliant and do good in math but I am excited about the growth that we are seeing.

Also, not sure if I’m actually posting this for myself as a reminder for this school year. Probably. 😊

This summer, I wanted to intentionally create a space where my son could build meaningful friendships with boys his age while growing in his faith. I partnered with our local chapter of @firstteeoregon and used a simple book series from Answers in Genesis @answersingenesis.

The concept was simple: create a safe environment where kids could ask honest questions about their faith and receive thoughtful, biblically grounded answers. My hope was to cultivate both authentic community and a deeper confidence in God’s Word. Comment SCHEDULE and I’ll send a template for you to follow with the link to the book series we used.

You don’t have to be a theologian or professor to do this. I’m sure not and I pulled it off with God’s grace!
I did reach out to our local Bible college @portlandbiblecollege and asked to meet with their professors for a few of the sessions. I needed help answering some BIG life questions the boys had. They were more than happy to help and we all learned so much! After our Bible study time I would take them to their summer camp class with the coaches at First Tee…

FIRST TEE: First Tee focuses on teaching kids life skills and leadership through golf. They specialize in helping kids of color get into the game of golf! It’s nationwide and they have SCHOLARSHIPS!

Godfidence (or Diosfianza in Spanish) is what happens when you’ve accumulated relational equity with God through obedience and trust.

Obedience is the trust muscle of your soul. Every time you obey, you gather evidence of God’s faithfulness and learn how He shows up.

The next time He asks you to step out in faith, you have gained Godfidence—not confidence in your own abilities, but confidence in His faithfulness.

This is what propelled the men and women of Scripture to step out in faith throughout history, including Jesus, who said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” — Luke 23:46
