This initiative is aimed to lower energy costs for local families dealing with energy hardship and support community energy needs. Such meaningful mahi and hopefully the start to many more partnerships like this 👏

Crazy few months but personal & professional development has been the focus for me at this time. However, in saying that I’m ensuring that connection and understanding is front of mind always 🩶🧠

In this pic is the judging panel for the Wackrow Youth memorial awards ✨

Started S2 with one my courses: Political Power in Aotearoa, Nz⚡️ crazy to think I’m already halfway through the semester

Mayor of Rotorua, Tania Tapsell and I 🥺🩷 she is my inspo and does so much for her community!! So grateful to have opportunities like the YEM hui to connect with her

My first day at my business internship as their first in-house marketer 😅😂 such a learning curve but honestly having so much fun and breaking new ground everytime!

TDC & Horizons regional council whanaungatanga 🔥 side note: shoutout to Ben who is the regional councillor for Whanganui, we met at the @asianewzealandfoundation induction for 2025 and it’s been cool to see him around since then !

Chamber of Commerce AGM for 2026 ! Small but great turnout and excited to continue to do more for the Chamber 🖤 A lot of new ideas coming through the pipeline so fingers crossed it all comes into fruition 🍎

My first Roundtable discussion as one of the discussants. Had such an invigorating experience and kōrero. I met some incredible people and I was able to share my thoughts on how NZ can be more strategic with Asia!

My podcast w @hotseat.1 in Auckland last month went live ! Such an interesting conversation and I had a blast 🔥 full video on YouTube

Just yesterday with Paul Henry. Him and his team came through Dannevirke and popped into the cafe. 😜 - while I don’t always agree with his views he’s a great guy and I had the opportunity share some issues that my locality is currently experiencing.

Became a member of @graduatewomennz! I recently came across this NGO and thought this was such a perfect way to become more involved with the advocacy of advancing education, leadership and opportunities for women and girls 🥰🥺 by @alisonamboynz

Third year in a row being part of the mock interview segment for this year’s cohort as part of the Dannevirke CACTUS programme. A big mihi to everyone who continues to make this happen.

It’s amazing what these kids accomplish during this programme! Every year the rangatahi continue to impress and inspire me it I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of them ✨ - our future is so bright.

Today, Council formally supported the proposal from Our Place Dannevirke in principle, allowing the next steps to begin towards negotiating a licence to occupy and manage the Dannevirke Deer Park.

At our meeting in April, I supported the decision to decommission the Deer Park under the model it was operating under at the time. Since then, members of our community have come forward to retain the Deer Park

I believe this is a really positive step forward. I’m pleased Council has been able to support OPD in working towards a viable option that could retain this much-loved community space.

I’m excited to see what the future could hold for the Deer Park and want to commend Our Place Dannevirke and everyone who has stepped forward with the commitment and willingness to help keep this special part of Dannevirke going.

TOMORROW NIGHT ! ⚡️

This is my first Roundtable discussion and I’m so grateful to have been asked to be part of this event - especially at a time when kōrero like this is so important.

I can’t wait to share my thoughts about how we can be strategic with Asia; using examples from a local and regional perspective but also how my own personal experiences have shaped my views on relationship building and what I think the future is with Asia/NZ.

Ultimately, I’m super excited and I cant wait to do this alongside some very intelligent minds ✨🧠

Such a beautiful evening the other night for the 2026 Wackrow Youth Memorial Award run by the Dannevirke Community Board. I had the privilege of being apart of it since the beginning of this year ✨🏆

A massive congratulations to winner Emma Green and runners up: Zachariah Welsh and Kyle Strydom (who was not present) and all other nominees.

Being apart of the judging panel was so hard knowing that each of them are so dedicated to their schools, groups and the community. Can’t wait to do this all again next year 🤍

I had the best time in Rotorua for the Young Elected Members Hui 2026. It was an opportunity to connect with some amazing people who will forever make a lasting impact to me especially in the space of local politics 🖤

I throughly enjoyed hearing from the guest speakers and Q&A panels and was able to be apart of some important kōrero. I am so grateful for opportunities like this ✨

Get ready with me for a day at Council powered by @lifestream.plantbasedhealth 😍 I have been obsessed with the immune and wellbeing sachets and I’m loving the way they taste! They don’t taste chalky or powdery and it has been a nice addition to add to my morning routine 🩷

It’s been a busy few months around the district internally & externally - especially since the announcement of simplify local government was made at the start of May. Here are just a few of the highlights that have happened since then:

•Quick stop in at TYCS to say hi and bring my sister who is miss universe candidate to visit some of the rangatahi.

•Tararua Alliance celebratory lunch - they have done some amazing work which has won multiple awards. They also launched a publication on the history of stewardship under an alliance model.

•Some of the public meetings hosted by council that I attended regarding the amalgamation proposal outlined by central government. I attended the Dannevirke, Akitio, and Herbetville meetings which were well attended and received by the communities across the district.

•Breast Cancer fundraiser encore where we hosted a bake sale and sold raffles outside the cafe !

•I attended a conference where I had the opportunity to meet Dame Jenny Shipley. It was such an awesome moment and one I won’t forget.

•One of the highlights of June was meeting up with Tararua College and doing a mock council with Mayor Scott and Cr Keshaan. We also got to share our experience with council which was an awesome and insightful discussion with our youth.

•LGNZ Zone 3 meeting which was a nice way to end the month of June. It was super insightful and I got to understand how other councils are engaging with their communities especially with all these reforms that are currently being proposed.

Awesome time last Friday with Mayor Scott, CE Corin & Cr Chris at @localgovernmentnz Zone 3 meeting Napier.

I had a great time connecting with new and familiar faces and there was a lot of good kōrero with Ministers, MPS, elected members, staff and government officials about the reforms happening in local government right now.

I am loving these types of huis and I am looking forward to seeing how we can continue to build relationships with councils across the region.
