Today marks 9 years since I decided to get baptized, the best decision I have ever made and will ever make. In high school, in the middle of a lot of chaos, darkness, and heartache… I had some pretty incredible encounters with God… convincing me not only of His existence but of His love for me. At 17 years old, I knew that I wanted my life in the hands of Jesus. I knew it wholeheartedly.

The Creator of the universe, as we would all hope, is GOOD. In fact, He is the “goodest” 🥹 God’s goodness is the reason I would start a community through @thewalkstories and create clothing to give Him glory. God’s goodness is the reason I would run a half marathon (I used to hate running??? I still kind of do but I also now love it??) and have my mom write scripture all over my body while I run the race. God’s goodness is the reason I would spend hours and hours crafting a crewneck that says Jesus across the front. God’s goodness is the reason I would place mini Jesus figurines all over the place, particularly in airports. God’s goodness is the reason I would look for any opportunity to talk about Him and share about His character.

I soooo desperately want people to understand what I, and many others, have experienced. I have tried and tried to put it into words, but words don’t do it justice… relationship with Jesus is not only life changing but life giving.

It is MORE than worth giving a shot. I promise.

While my walk with Jesus has not been perfect by any means, I have watched Him choose me over and over again. And I could not be more grateful for it. Here’s to another year, and honestly a lifetime of trying to put what relationship with Jesus is into words.

Shoutout Alison for pouring into these dancers and pointing them to the cross. We also loved gifting three participants with “The Living Word Tee” from The Walk. Such a cool opportunity to wear your story and spread the good news!!

Over the weekend, @thewalkstories hit a significant milestone… launching our first ever matching sets!!!!!!🤩🤍🙏🏼🙆🏼‍♀️🥹 This has me in FULL reflection mode. It has been almost a year and a half since leaving my previous jobs to pursue this full time. This chapter has been one of the hardest and yet one of the most fruitful to date. There’s been many laughs, many tears, a lot of encouragement, a lot of wrestling, a lot of waiting, a LOT of prayer, and many sweet victories… both little and big.

If you asked me two years ago where I’d thought we would be today, my answer would not have been where I’m at right now… some goals not hit and yet other goals FAR exceeded. But I can tell you that from where I’m standing, I’m really proud of the hard work that’s been put in from our little team… and I’m really grateful to the Lord for giving me courage and guidance as I continue to lean into the vision that is The Walk.

I hope watching me navigate this crazy journey both peaks your interest about what a personal relationship with Jesus is like AND encourages you to pursue dreams that might take years to build. It’s definitely not easy, nor was it ever supposed to be. And yet, it has been the most wonderful gift.

Thank you to the best little team for working tirelessly to keep the ball moving forward, to my sweet family for the endless support, to my dear friends who are CONSTANTLY encouraging me and championing me in this and to my incredible boyfriend who is always trying on all the new clothes, giving me feedback, listening to me talk in circles (all day long)… and not letting me even *think* about giving up, even when it gets harder than I could ever imagine.

“It takes a village”… and I know God is having me learn this over and over again because that truth is meant to exist at the very heart of The Walk. 💛 by @alisonbloomquist

For those of you signed up for our clinic at Elite Dance Force, we have exciting news!!!

Alison Bloomquist, co-founder of @thewalkstories will be guest leading our Bible study on August 21st! All registered dancers will have the opportunity to seek Jesus with Alison from 9:00-9:45am before the clinic begins. We are so excited for her to pour into these dancers! You won’t want to miss this!!

Back in January I took a deeper look into the lyrics of Moonflower by @songbirdabbie and I absolutely fell in love with it. This song is such a sweet reminder that biblical faith doesn’t promise life without trial… however, it does promise access to a personal relationship with Jesus that brings comfort and creates beauty from ashes in the middle of trial. These past few weeks have been pretty difficult for different reasons. Social media isn’t always the space to outwardly process. And yet… I have experienced a peace, a comfort, and a joy that exceeds ALL understanding and doesn’t make any logical sense when one has the full picture. Following Jesus doesn’t always make your circumstances rainbows and butterflies… but I can confidently say that it’s created purpose out of pain and sometimes even miraculous victory at what is seemingly a dead end. Thanking God that 1. this dark world isn’t the place I call home and 2. that in the middle of the darkness, we can find Light.

Choreographing to this song was an honor. I was so grateful to share this movement with some incredible people yesterday, to be dancing with my sister @sarah_lakotich !!! & of course loved wearing @thewalkstories while doing so 🤍🥹 by @alisonbloomquist

My deeper thoughts:
I read a quote the other day that read “it’s not what you do that defines who you are, Rather, what you do is an expression of who you are”. Reading that, I was reminded of Riley and how he is such a clear example of this. Riley is loyal, determined, committed, incredibly observant, decisive and persistent. The heart of who he is so clearly translates into the way he plays the game. Baseball is simply just one expression of the solid foundation he’s built with his character. To champion someone who is the same person *everywhere* and in *every* aspect of their life is a joy… & to be able to watch you reach these big goals is really just the cherry on top. I could not be more proud of you Riley—thanking God for bringing me such an incredible man of character and faith.

Had Makenna write Matthew 5:14 on my arm: “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” Thank you Jesus for a body that we can push to greater limits than imagined and for helping me endure things I never thought I’d put on the bingo card 💛

Also s/o to my incredible mom and aunt who drove up to cheer us on super early in the morning… having people there to champion you on makes the WORLD of a difference. Such a gift! by @alisonbloomquist
