Happy birthday to my beautiful husband @millertale who's dedicated his life and artistic practice to story telling, his own, as well as nurturing the stories of his students. Here's the poster for the amazing new documentary about him and his performance and community building and social activism, that just had its first of many screenings. I'm so proud of you, I love you🐻❤🌊 by @alistair.mccartney

"At home, he is at least surrounded by books. Poetry books and books of paintings. Compendia of myths and fairytales. All these people sleeping and waking, dreaming and dying, too young or too old, caught out by time or nature or their own hesitancy or boldness. Should you go into the woods or remain indoors? Accept the magic beans a strange man wants to gift you, out of the blue? Should you dare the Outside to wrap itself around you, no matter the consequences?"

RIP to the great Peter Nadas, whose books are wonderfully difficult and voluptuous.

"He was like a blade, though he could not tell of what, perhaps of a razor or an icy thought, but of that he said nothing."

You'll never understand the possibilities of autofiction, its ability to dissolve the line between the real and the fictive, until you read Genet, Duras, Guibert. @semiotexte #herveguibert by @alistair.mccartney
