🕯Some things are not built for the certainty of tomorrow.🌱

They are planted because something in us already knows what they may become.

Perhaps that is what faith looks like in its quietest form—

believing in the shade
while still holding the seed.

🕯We call them lost things.
But sometimes they are simply little pieces of someone,
waiting where they were last remembered.🌱

🕯Do what is yours to do, and do it with a good heart.

🕯Sometimes for a few seconds, a passing window can make a stranger’s life feel strangely close.🌱

🕯Museums teach us the names of kings.🌱
But sometimes the object I remember is the one whose owner had no name at all.

🕯Rain changes a city twice.
Once while it falls— and once afterward, when every ordinary thing begins reflecting more sky than it did before.🌱

🕯We photograph birthdays, sunsets, departures
Meanwhile, entire pieces of our lives disappear without ever knowing they were important- a shirt moving in the wind, laughter from another room, two oranges left in afternoon light.

🕯Perhaps memory has always collected differently than we do.🍁

🕯I wonder how many strangers we have met without meeting them—
through a sentence they underlined,
a flower pressed between pages,
a corner folded decades before the book reached our hands.
Sometimes a person leaves behind almost nothing.
Almost.🌱

🕯Maybe joy is not something we outgrow.
Maybe we simply become too practiced at standing on the shore and pretending the water isn’t calling us.
The dog knew better.🌱

🕯Some places we leave only once.

The rest of the leaving
takes a lifetime.🌱
