One week until release day! Saturday May 16th is 1 day off from the 10 year anniversary of my first ever gig. It was in my band Smaller Victories (with @dylanchobe and @an_actual_schmuck) and it was at the Petersham Bowling Club. In high school we only really played 1 show a year, at a completion called Youthrock in punchbowl. This was the rare exception. The show was booked by our English teacher Mr Calvert and featured the only two other musical projects at Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt. Truly, we were really really bad. I remember that we did a cover of Starman and I remember looking into the crowd and seeing people wincing. I remember my hands shaking as I played this busted up blue and black partcaster I bought for $400 on marketplace thinking it was a strat (I still have it). While I’m not in a band with these two anymore we still help each other out with music stuff here and there and I love seeing them around and I love them basically.

10 years down the track and my first solo single is coming out. Dylan played flute on it. presave it now!!

Recently stumbled upon some photos of a legacy camping trip my friends and I went on in November 2020. Very special trip that ended up inspiring a SONG that you may hear next Sunday (the 15th) at a fun BACKYARD SHOW in the inner west of Sydney (dm for details) (support: @george.division )

I actually told my best ever joke on this trip. I can’t repeat it because it may lose its power. It took 5 minutes to tell and everyone was in hysterics You’ll just have to believe me bro.

BACKYARD SHOW! A little scraping will be heard on the 15th of March in an undisclosed inner west backyard. DM me (Oscar) for details.

I am really excited to present my songs brought to life by my wonderful band - @henricoj on double bass, @rory_stewart_music on piano, and @myths002 on vocals/guitar. There will be an opening set from @george.division; Food and some drinks will also be provided.

A little bit about the name a little scraping

Robinson Jeffers is one of my favourite poets and his poem Hurt Hawks has thematically inspired a lot of my lyric writing (he also really likes birds and water). However, I didn’t like the name hurt hawks for a musical project, so I went on allpoems.com and this was the first poem to appear in their alphabetical list of his works. I liked how it sounded and that is how we got here.

I haven’t really decided yet whether to put out music under this name or my own. Oh well. Enjoying the process. What a gift to have so many beautiful musicians give their time to this project. i think we had there are about 10 people on this record now and I intend to double or triple that. I love you all.

Mim and I will be debuting a bunch of these songs on Thursday at Lazybones (link in bio), alongside @thedressthedress and @jimmybreslin1 . She will also be playing some of her beautiful music, which really is worth the price of admission alone. See you there! by @alittlescraping
