Slowly stepping back into the kitchen five weeks postpartum, and what better time to ease back in than the coziest season of baking sweet treats and serving up warm and nourishing soups. Truly my favorite season to be in the kitchen! Here’s everything we made this first week of autumn! Did I go a little overboard with the sweet autumnal treats? It’s no secret that I find so much joy in piecing together little capsule wardrobes for my boys with each new season that comes around, so here is my method for keeping things attainable, because it’s all mostly secondhand, while also cohesive within the capsule and with one another!

1. Always shop secondhand first! If there’s a specific piece I’m looking for, I always take to the thrift store, consignment shops, or online secondhand shops like Poshmark or even here on Instagram! This immediately keeps costs way down!

2. Choose a few colors to create a palette and don’t stray from it! This goes for of all three of my children. It helps keep pieces mixing and matching within their own wardrobes and also keeps everyone cohesive as a unit! Not necessary at all in the eyes of most, but I love for everyone to be coordinating! This year I chose navy blue, chocolate brown, maroon, cream, forest green, and grey for their fall/winter colors!

3. Try to stick with an overall aesthetic. I lean towards timeless and slightly preppy for my boys but this method works with any style! Again, this keeps things feeling so cohesive! Most pieces in their closet pair well with each other for this reason.

Below is a list of everything I gathered for this season for my toddlers. It honestly feels like a little too much, but also, these boys go through multiple outfits a day, ha. So maybe it’s just enough!

Jackets/Outerwear: 1 wool coat, 1 lighter jacket, 1 rain suit
Accessories: 1-2 ball caps, 1 wool beanie, wool mittens
Tops: 5-7 long sleeve shirts, 1-2 button downs, 3-4 sweaters
Pants: 4 pants, 1 sweatpants
Shoes: 1 tennis shoe, 1 brown boot, 1 nice pair, 1 rain boot
Pajamas: 4 pairs, including 1 matching Christmas set by @aliviafields

The sweetest gift of a family mini session from @ellabenhamphotography! We have never prioritized getting newborn photos taken when our older boys were little and oh I am so glad we did this time around! The weather didn’t pan out and the lighting indoors was terrible so we quickly plopped down into the front yard for ten minutes and Ella worked her magic! We’ll cherish these forever! These are absolutely the days, with our three. ♡ by @aliviafields
