Today would have been the 65th birthday of my dad, Bradley Samuel Fleming. 🕊️🤍🫶🏻

To lose our dad was something we never would have anticipated for this year, and I’m not unfamiliar with loss, but this one was monumentally devastating. It continues to be, each and every day. My dad dedicated his entire life to finding happiness for Justin and I, and he was always on our side no matter the circumstances. His unconditional love and support is something so irreplaceable that we will never get back, and we feel that absence tremendously. His only desire in this world was for me to always be better than he was, and then for me to continue to be better than myself. For him, I will continue to be, although it feels less than desirable to do so most days. He was my shoulder to cry on, my biggest supporter, my breakfast buddy, my construction teacher, and my best friend. I will love him and carry the insurmountable weight of this loss endlessly, and forever.

“It’s a curious thing, the death of a loved one. It’s like climbing the stairs to your room in the dark, thinking that there’s one more step than there is. And your foot falls through the air, and there is a sickly feeling of dark surprise”. by @alixandrafleming
