One year ago today, we had to say goodbye to our Curly guy. What started as an unlikely friendship became so much more than that. We became family over the 10+ years I had the pleasure of knowing him. He truly was one of a kind. He had a heart of gold and his favourite thing in the world was to make people laugh. I miss his laugh. I miss the way he would look at me with so much love. I miss being able to call him. It’s still so hard to believe he is gone. There was so much more he wanted to do in life, but his body couldn’t go on anymore. He wanted to go camping. He wanted to skydive. He wanted to go on one more tropical vacation with Curly’s angels. I am forever grateful for getting to spend so much time with him and I am forever lucky to have been one of his favourite people. One year ago today, Curly woke up and asked me to put on "Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens. He looked out the window at the sunshine, soaking up the last bit of beauty he could before having to say goodbye. As Sharen and I held his hands, he was so brave and was cracking jokes until the very last moment. That was our Curly guy. I miss you everyday. Love you forver 💛 by @alixnikulka
