Introducing another one of our eight fantastic Emerging Artists who will be working and performing with us this summer: @aliyah.ww, Mezzo-Soprano ✨

Aliyah Wendelbo is a mezzo-soprano from North Carolina who is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music, studying with Sidney Outlaw at the Manhattan School of Music. A high school graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Aliyah studied with Phyllis Pancella, Robert Rocco, and James Allbritten.

At MSM, she's performed in numerous song and opera scene recitals including the role of La Maestra delle novizie in the opening scene of Suor Angelica in the undergraduate opera scenes concert this past December. She has also performed in scenes from Le nozze di Figaro, Une Education manquée, and Dido and Aneas. In 2022, she sang the title role of a new children's opera Pablo by Christian Schultz at the Austria Summer Music Festival, where she also sang in masterclasses with Sylvia and Peter Edelmann.

She recently presented her first solo half recital at MSM and performed in the ensemble of Princess Ida: The Glow Up by Gilbert and Sullivan, reimagined by Heather O'Donovan, at The Riverside Theater.

We can't wait to have you with us, Aliyah!
