6 months update!

Started off on a surgical unit, now I'm working in neuro and cardiac. It was a lil rough transition but we are making it work. Who knew that blue looked so good on me! 😂 Learned so much already!

Sharing transparency!
(The struggle)
I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel for a very long time. Been in school for a while, probably changed my major like 5 or 6 times (lost count 😭). Dealt with a lot of family and friends passing. Struggled working to support myself while in school (had up to 2 jobs at a time 😭), barely could keep a social life (missed out/cancelled on many outings). Needless to say it took some effort to keep it together, most days I could and the rest not so much.

There were days that I smiled and joked but in reality I wanted to give up. I knew my mom and granny would be disappointed if I quit. They wouldn't want me to wallow in sorrow. + I know I'm inspiring someone watching. Therefore, I dusted myself off, whipped my tears and tried again. I know it's a little corny but my last month of school before class I used to sit outside of the building where they held nursing pinning ceremonies and did pos. affirmations. Everyday I told myself that I already have it, all I gotta do is claim it, I'm walking out of that building. The day we found out if we passed finals was the day I finally saw the light out of this long ass tunnel! I manifested walking out of that building with my pin and cords and walking out after graduation with my degree.

For those who know me know that I work hard and can be hard on myself. Throughout this journey I have worked on patience and learning to give others and myself grace. Also learning the art of saying NO. Investing to be a better version of myself from yesterday.

It's been a journey but I am so blessed and thankful to be given an opportunity to make an impact in so many individual lives. If I gave up it wouldn't be fair to the 10 year old me who wanted and promised better for myself or that 22 year old who was inspired by a nurse who took care of my grandmother on her last few days and wanted to give that type of support to other patients and their families. taken in Ted talk by @allaboutnursed
