Every morning I ask for mercy. Every time it is given freely. Without hesitation or interrogation. This is your invitation too.

Quiet me enough to hear Your voice in the wind, the birds, the rising son, and the changing seasons. This is not a day to conquer. Rather, a moment to look for your face among people called the least.

Noticing a sunrise and sunset is a liturgy of beginnings and endings. We need liturgical moments to ground us. To reset. In those moments of quiet and stillness, God's voice is discernible. This is the invitation.

Most mornings, the sun announces itself—
Brilliant across the pasture,
Light cascades across the barn,
Waking in plain sight.

Today the fog has come,
Softening fence lines,
Hiding the far pastures
Making a mystery of things
I know are still there.

That is its own kind of grace.
To stand where you have stood a thousand mornings
And unable to see very far.
To trust the road continues
Beyond where it disappears.
To know the field is still a field,
The trees still trees,
The farm still home.

We spend a lot of our lives
Wanting God to clear the fog,
When some mornings
He simply meets us in it.

So today I won't ask the fog to hurry.
I'll ten to what is near.
Walk the ground I can see.
Trust what lies beyond it.

The sun is still rising.
Even when I cannot see it.

Father, this day is already yours.
Before I woke, you were present.
Before I made my plans, you were at work.

An affirmation some of y'all need to hear...

I am one in whom Christ dwells and delights.
I live in the strong and unshakeable Kingdom of God, the kingdom is not in trouble and neither am I.
