As a team, we’ve watched our CEO walk through the toughest seasons of his life and choose to keep moving forward anyway. No shortcuts. No detours. Just movement through pressure, uncertainty, and fire, one step at a time.

Our CEO also wanted to acknowledge the narrator @iamgeorgewhitethespeaker , whose voice became like a mentor to him during some of the darkest days of his life, offering strength, perspective, and the reminder to keep going.

Dear Acebooncoon,

It’s ya grape nose boy.

Today was special for me.

They say that when someone passes away, you’re supposed to celebrate their life instead of becoming attached to the sadness and misery of them no longer being here. They say that if you hold on too tightly, they won’t truly rest in peace because they’ll be too worried about you. They’ll stay by your side until they know you’ll be okay.

When you were in your final days, I now realize how completely delusional I was.

Even when the doctor looked both of us in the face and told us you had two weeks left… I didn’t hear it.

Even after I begged you to get some sleep so you could get better, and you yelled at me saying you didn’t know if you would wake up… I still didn’t hear it.

Even then, you never told me you were leaving.

Meanwhile, you were preparing my brother.

You knew I couldn’t believe it.

You fought longer than you should have. You suffered… and I watched you suffer day after day.

Even after you stopped being responsive in hospice, I still called 911 and told them to come now, even though they had already prepared us that this was going to happen.

You told Dejuan that I was going to need him because you wouldn’t, and couldn’t, dare tell me you were leaving.

Something has always told me you were here with me every step of the way.

But today… I felt your love.

It was so powerful that I couldn’t understand why it hit me the way it did.

Now I know.

It’s because you finally know that your baby boy broke through the threshold of pain, grief, and darkness.

You know I’ll be okay.

Well… thanks, Mama.

You stayed beside me while I fought my way back to the light.

You stayed beside me as I made mistake after mistake.

And now…

I’m finally okay.

So go…

Go, you sweet woman.

Go rest in peace.

This isn’t goodbye.

This is me finally letting go of the pain that kept holding you here in my heart, with tears in your eyes.

Thank you, Ace.

Ten years ago I thought success was about effort.

More hours.

More sacrifice.
