New 24-Mile CBP Marine Zone. The rules of the offshore waters just expanded.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has officially doubled its marine enforcement jurisdiction from 12 to 24 nautical miles around Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Designed to crack down on offshore smuggling, this expanded contiguous zone changes the legal landscape for boaters running the island circuit between the Spanish Virgins and the USVI.

A trophy is never just a trophy.

Does the CSA Majors Trophy Redefine the Caribbean Racing Season?

The Caribbean Sailing Association has introduced the CSA Majors Trophy—a season-long championship that many sailors have wanted for years.

On the surface, it's a fantastic idea.

But championships do something else, too.

They create gravity.

Owners have limited budgets.
Crews have limited vacation time.
Sponsors have limited dollars.

Once points are attached to a series, calendars begin to revolve around the events that count.

That's why this new trophy matters.

It doesn't just recognize five regattas...
it quietly tells the market which five matter most.

The question isn't whether the CSA Majors Trophy is good for Caribbean racing.

Pretty. Deadly. Delicious.

The lionfish may be one of the most beautiful fish in the Caribbean — but it’s also one of the most destructive.

Native to the Indo-Pacific, lionfish have exploded across Caribbean reefs where they have no natural predators.

They consume juvenile reef fish at an alarming rate and can dramatically reduce reef biodiversity.

But the Caribbean community has found an unusual solution.

Eat them.

Lionfish meat is white, flaky, and delicious — and harvesting them helps protect reef ecosystems.

Divers across the region now organize lionfish hunts and derbies, removing thousands from reefs each year.
