The first glimpse of @the_emma_mm performance piece What of This is Mine to Keep? At the @grit.artshow last week was pretty cool - among art and music there were pauses for cuts of the choreography performed by Emma, @m.charanis @meggourley and @jodiejernigan

I love my wedding dress. It is still one of my absolute favorite dresses that I’ve ever made! I remember just finishing it in my parent’s living room. I showed my mom who was so sweet and supportive through the whole process and then I went to go show my dad in his office. He said “wow princess, you’ve made a masterpiece” I designed it to feel timeless, elegant. I didn’t want to pick one time period or era.

This summer I made another wedding dress, this one was very time specific. It was an early 1860’s wedding dress. My husband and I met at a civil war reenactment and we did an 1860’s vow renewal at the very spot we met 10 years later. It was magical!

We have so much fun being married and time traveling that we think it would be fun it get married in a lot of different time periods! Which one should we get married in next?

Also I cannot think for a more monochrome dress than a wedding dress for #fallforcostume day 8.

Lemnos magic
We went to a special beach called Fanaraki and as we stepped into the water the light hit Γλυκερια perfectly - this was my favorite shot
The water was cool and swift full of fish, rocks and sea urchins
The air was warm and dry
We swam, jumped, laughed and smiled taken in Λήμνος (Limnos - Lemnos) by @allazophoto

Long Creek Falls - Afternoon Calm
Amazed that it wasn’t more crowded on a Saturday afternoon.
I was experimenting with long exposure and a new ND/Polarizer filter I just bought for my trip to Greece this summer. I am looking to learn more about creating motion and mood with these tools.

The Civil War was a terrible time in US History, where brother fought brother and too many young men died. There was so much around it and the civilians who took care of the men, their dress, the charm, the dancing and celebration during happier times. What a great time photographing Marie and Steven’s celebration. Thank you @historicalbelle for allowing me to capture your memories.

What a great time photographing Marie and Steven’s celebration. I witnessed and captured the moments, as they recommitted to their wedding vows at the very place they first met, the Virginia reel dance after the battle of Resaca Civil War Reenactment in Resaca, GA. I was blown away by the wedding dress Marie aka @historicalbelle designed and made as well as so many of the outfits and wonderful people in them during this fun time. I’m sharing a few of the many images I captured during the celebration - more to come. I took the liberty of editing a few of these to reflect the time - after all this is about historical reenactment! Marie and Steven insisted on a few with a straight face as folks did back then when wet plate photography took a few minutes to expose. Special thanks to @m.charanis as my assistant- she kept me in line and had fun too!
