an abstract weekend sendoff with texture over colour. greyscale substance over style. but in style... one would hope.

you know what i mean 🫠 ♡ x by @allbeau_works

one of the proverbial hills then!
(figuring these ones out atm)

another day, another diy-style experiment. another last-minute, knee-jerk submission for an open call 🙃 one i had only just found out about. yet again. if ever there was stepping out of comfort zones.

the submission form asked for a title; 'rocks in the hot sun' it is 🙃🫟🖍️ i actually quite like the idea of a bottle label/can decor as depicted in the clumsy mockup. strictly no ai here.

one special landscape. a piece kind of commissioned by an old friend. a general 'landscape' brief has somehow become a metaphorical memory lane. 💙 for the city as we once used to know. (i know. i know! still) 🫠

just a spontaneous quick one with these watercolour and ink extraterrestrial edibles. granted, they're greyscale. the thing don't like greyscale. granted, 'my crowd' doesn't do the gram on saturdays (or sundays). cause i just need to get this one out of my system. and i quite like greyscale organic extraterrestrial botanicals. i tried not to. promise this is it! okay. thanks bye x by @allbeau_works

have i got a first time art collector on board. who also happens to be a molehill fan??

taken by surprise by instagram's treatment of the previous greyscale bits and bobs. turns out black and white 'rorschach' mental health series (from way back in the day) does just as marvellous as any other colourful content 🙃 so, on repeat: what's NOT to like about a bit of monochromatic minimalist cloudy fluffiness!

'foods for thought' spread their roots. it's a wrap. mixed media on paper.

secret life of #backyardgarden & other secrets, continued. like: is it A or B for colour preference..? 🐦

stealing any spare second i happen upon to experiment. try new materials. sketching in pleinair. observing the backyard. 'imagining things'. finding inspiration, people, art collectors along the way. own motivations & circumstances of what still feels pretty box fresh life phase aside, the parenting thing. i do owe AI for this creative urge. or should i say 'blame'?

with a handful of art club years and some training in hands-on art disciplines as a side to my main field (an adjacent creative profession), i haven't figured out what happens to my line of work next. with AI automated processes and all. while i am still not fully back to work yet, let us sleep (ha!) on that. you win some, yes?

in the meantime: making things by hand feels very right.

btw. a timeless stare into the backyard, twenty out of ten parents will recommend. not that they ever get a chance to 🙃

so. it may seem instagram dont like greyscale..!
me: still have feelings, other than greyscale ban sorrow, for my 'rorschach' mental health series. dedicated to a good cause. back in the day.

what's NOT to like about a bit of monochromatic minimalist cloudy fluffiness!
