This week Evan and I got to learn to drive race cars at Laguna Seca. On Monday neither of us had ever driven a manual transmission. By the end of the first day we were chasing lead cars around the track, upshifting and downshifting while blazing through the turns. By the end of the second day we were driving full open track and reviewing progress with professional race drivers.
No speedometer, no fancy features, just strapped tightly into a very fast, very agile car. We got to learn and practice driving racing lines on an iconic track..
It was an incredible way to spend some quality time together and build some skills.
I can say that these cars handle like nothing I've ever driven, including our Mustang GT and my brief drive in a Lamborghini Huracan at Sonoma Raceway last year. There's nothing like being in the center of the car, driving fast, and learning the flow of a good racing line. Totally hooked...
Thank you to Julie Hamilton for the thoughtful gift! by @allenbergracing

Fantastic experience. Great people, very professional, but also very down to earth and approachable. You get a lot of seat time, the skid pad exercise was awesome, and the video review after each session was extremely helpful. I’ve been doing track days in road cars for over 10 years and I still learned a lot. by @allenbergracing
