‘Sell your body, honey’ were the words one of my aunties whispered in my ear at a family gathering in San Francisco, a few days before I was about to move to London at 22 to start a masters in Fashion Futures at LCF, after living in the middle of nowhere upstate New York 4 years prior at Cornell.
