🍛 🥗 🍕 Celebrating #NationalSchoolLunchWeek by lending a hand on the serving line! This week, Superintendent Dr. Carol D. Birks visited the William Allen High School Ninth Grade Center to pitch in alongside our cafeteria staff, who were excited to introduce one of our new menu items: Carne Asada with Mexican Rice, Corn & Sweet Plantains. The plantains were a huge hit with the freshmen - keep an eye out for new menu items all week long, as our staff has been cooking up some amazing surprises! ⭐ ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT⭐
From the classroom to caring for the community: In partnership with GIANT, ASD will host five vaccine clinics to keep our staff safe & healthy. At our first clinic of the year, 24 district staff members received their vaccines, and one moment was especially #HuksyPride. 🐾
GIANT Pharmacy Manager Marc Luong, a proud Dieruff Class of 2007 graduate, had the honor of administering a vaccine to his former math teacher, Ms. Harris!
It’s always incredible to see our alumni giving back and supporting the educators who helped guide their path. Special thanks to our Health Services team and everyone at GIANT for helping protect our school community.🩺 💙 Two individuals are posing together, smiling, in a room with rows of blue chairs. This past week I had the opportunity to stop over at J. Birney Crum Stadium to catch a matchup between Dieruff and Whitehall, and the energy in the stadium was exactly what you’d expect when two proud programs step onto the field. From the moment I arrived, both teams were already locked in—warming up, running plays, staying focused, and getting themselves ready for a competitive battle under the lights. Once the game kicked off, the action was nonstop. Big runs, strong defensive stands, and pure effort from both sidelines made this one a great matchup to capture. These are the images from that game. A special shout out to the Allentown School District and all its coaches, players, and parents whose dedication keeps our community’s sports thriving.

It's been a great week in ASD! Let's rewind and check out highlights from across our schools:
⭐ Dieruff's Cross Country team has been putting in the work, and at this week's meet at Pocono Mountain West, 11 of our runners recorded their new personal record times in the 5K!
⭐ Allen's AP Biology classes participated in a fun and engaging Bubble Lab, learning about the Cell Membrane
⭐ South Mountain's Family and Consumer Science classes learned to stay safe in the kitchen while also making tasty Apple Pie- filled Cinnamon Rolls.
⭐ Ciocca Subaru adopted multiple classrooms at Lehigh Parkway through their Subaru Loves Learning program, demonstrating the power of partnerships through the community.
