19 years ago today, God blessed my family with the greatest gift, our katie roo. I could go on forever about what an amazing woman she is, but to put it simply: Katie is all things good and bright and beautiful. She loves with all of her being, and would do anything for the people in her life. Katie radiates happiness and brings light and laughter into any room she enters. GOD IS SO GOOD!
A lot of you might not know, but for the past months my dad has been battling cancer for the third time. My dad is truly a rockstar, my best friend, and the best role model. Everyone who knows my dad knows that his joy is contagious; he brings light and laughter wherever he goes. I am so inspired by his strength and his faith throughout these difficult seasons. Today, we got to celebrate him finishing his chemo & radiation treatments and being cancer free!
As a result of the radiation treatments, my dad is still expected to feel some rough side effects for the next few weeks. I wanted to ask for you guys to keep him in your thoughts and pray for a quick, miraculous healing.
To everyone who has prayed, reached out, and supported my family, I cannot thank you enough. We have felt all of the love. I am especially thankful for the Godly community I have found at Reach & their prayers and encouragement throughout this journey, I love you all so much!!
God always has a plan, even in our suffering. I’ve had to remind myself that He didn’t remove the Red Sea, He parted it. Just because our problems aren’t immediately removed, doesn’t mean that He won’t make a way. This season has taught me so much about praying expectantly and relying on the Lord alone. Being in Alabama, and not with my family, throughout my dad’s treatment journey made me feel so helpless at times. In these moments I knew that all I could do is trust in God, because His plan will always prevail. My dad’s healing is a testament to God’s goodness and faithfulness.
