Putting the finishing touches on Swoon before submitting to festivals. One year after being awarded @catalystfilmcollective ‘s Script to Screen grant which allowed me to pay every single crew and cast member a reasonable wage. And then I got to judge this years submissions, all of which are worthy of the award. I’m so grateful to the Portland film community for making this sweet little movie happen. Behind the scenes of my new proof-of-concept short film SWOON. Thank you to @catalystfilmcollective and its members for providing the funds to bring this film to life. It is such a precious gift to be supported in making art, and I never want to take that generosity for granted. SWOON is about a frustrated woman with cerebral palsy who hires a reluctant s-xworker to help her body relax. It’s sweet, funny, and a little raunchy, and performed beautifully by the talented and charming @margauxwellman and @jack_einsteiner. Coming from sex education it’s so ennobling to see folks connect with authentic explorations of the complexities of bodies and pleasure. Next up on the @clackamascommunitycollege mainstage is WITCH, written by Jen Silverman-- a modern interpretation of the story of Elizabeth Sawyer, a woman convicted of witchcraft. This vibrant, brilliant play uses a quasi-16th century setting to explore themes of class, gender, desire, and nihilism. Comedic, tragic, and a delight from start to finish. Students get in free! 2025 was one of those “good hurt” kind of years. Lots of growing, learning, asking, and exploring. Lots of crying, processing, wondering, and hoping. The one thing I don’t have to wonder about, thankfully, is if I have love in my life. Because when I take a glance, I see it all around me. Here’s to 2026! Swoon is crewing up!The @catalystfilmcollective Script to Screen winning script, Swoon, was written and will be directed by Allison Moon. This is a grant-funded project intended to help new and emerging filmmakers from underrepresented groups by allowing them a chance to gain experience and work with industry professionals on a learning set. The crew will be a mix of experienced mentors and newer-to-film production mentees. The department head roles below are for people with production set experience.This will be a two-day shoot scheduled for late March 2026 near Portland, Oregon. This is a micro-budget short film that relies on community support and donations in addition to the grant. As such, payment will be in the form of a flat fee that is inclusive of all days. This is the very definition of a passion project so we are seeking support from our talented community!
