Goodbye to this little buddy I found in my 20s - the first dog of my own, that I met when I was lonely, had no idea what I was doing (still don’t), and didn’t know how much I needed him. Thank you for being my shadow even if I’ve tripped over you a million times. My blind little roomba bumping into everything but always vacuuming the floor for me, consistently underfoot, always snuggled by my lap or feet. You helped me through so many hard times, losses, a breakup, a pandemic, spells of depression. You saw me through many periods of growth and accomplishments, happy memories, travel stories. You were the perfect car ride companion, happy to go anywhere (except the vet and groomer). You made the weirdest noises, always eating whatever you could find, the loudest snorer. Putting your snoofer in things you shouldn’t. Draining my bank account but filling my heart.

I’ll miss your Sebby stink. The eye drop section on the counter. Your tray of toys under the table. Your little squeaks when I got home whether it be from work or just stepping out for 2 seconds to get the mail. The click clack of your nails waking me up at 2 am. The nose marks all over the walls as you navigate the house. Your little frog legs laying down. That goofy muppet face of yours. That you were there, always. And now you’re not.

You don’t realize how much your dog becomes part of who you are until they’re not there anymore. And scrolling through all my memories of you, Seb, and remembering the gentle, silly boy you always were - I know now that it’s time for me to let you go. I’ll love you and miss you forever, sweet boy. by @allielang92
