my debut album “In Pursuit of a Good Time” out now
TOUR DATES LINKED BELOW
POSTS STORIES REELS
Today my debut album, In Pursuit of a Good Time, is out. I wrote this record about living in upstate New York, the structures of young adulthood that inevitably fall apart, and closing one musical chapter of my life while starting another. These seven songs have been a part of me for a long time, and I am thrilled that they are finally yours. Thank you to every musician and engineer that lent their talent and unique singular vision to my first album. I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with you and learned so much from watching you record these songs. You made this album the jazz-rock-folk-country-funky fusion of my dreams! Mia, Logan, Jack and Teddy, you had a leading role and the most hours spent recording in various basements, studios, and practice rooms. Your commitment to recording this album was equally amazing and moving. Tara, I can’t wait to play these songs live with you on the In Pursuit of a Good Tour this weekend! I love you all and our laughs. Thank you to my family for being possibly more excited than me about this album, for your unwavering support, and for always being front row in the past ten years of playing. I am so grateful for our Good Times! Teddy, you were the first to hear every version of every song and a constant well of ideas, a genre chameleon on guitar, and my lucky charm. Thank you for being my rock through every up and down that comes with recording an album for the first time— I can’t wait to record many more together. To my listeners— Thank you for your sweet messages online, your incredible covers of my music, and your attendance at my bar gigs, rowdy college shows, and full band extravaganzas for the past two years. I hope you listen with headphones. I hope afterwards, you’re too in pursuit of a good time! The band & I will be performing the album tonight in NYC and for a couple more shows in NY + NJ (before I move to Nashville this fall!) See you there? I met @noahpierre732 in 2023 when I was playing with @seeingdoublebandny at a show in DC. When he reached out and said he was coming to Nashville for a week, it was only natural to hang for the first time in 3 1/2 years and play each other’s songs. I was so moved to hear his playing on Butterfly Effect… plus some funkier stuff that we’ll be sharing soon :) Something about living in Nashville makes it so easy to have moments like these. I like it here! #singersongwriter #originalsong #norahjones #guitartok by @alliesandt
