I must admit, when Sir @mikedoria.ig of San Anselmo Chapbooks encouraged me to submit a story for the Happy anthology, I thought I had no right. 😅After all, there were so many absolutely deserving writers who could draw from a well of personal experience of being put in a box for simply being themselves. What was I doing writing about being oppressed for loving? But I still tried. ...and now, I'm proud to say this is my second San Anselmo Chapbooks publication! A massive thank you to San Anselmo for this opportunity! It means so much to someone just trying to weave words into tapestries!💓 If you want a copy, please do message the publisher on Facebook! Triangle Gardens 🌳 ...and a bit of an announcement! It all started with me deciding to listen to Labi Siffre's Cannock Chase, my absolute favourite from his discography, on loop. It was utter bliss to let that clear stream of a guitar riff and those poetic lyrics about finding clarity in the middle of the Staffordshire greens wash over me. Of course, that led me to think about writing about my own Cannock Chase.🌳 In the years I frequented Makati, my citadine heart always found my way to Ayala Triangle Gardens. I may love the gleam of glass, concrete, and steel, but sitting in the park always allowed me to decompress. I would sometimes take a packed lunch and sit on a bench to reflect and get lost in verdure. Other times, I would meet friends at one of the restaurants at the back of the Stock Exchange. Either way, it felt like respiring, for both me and my thoughts. I hope I captured it here.🌳🌿 But then, I read that line about tending to my pocket park, and I realised something: Perhaps, it's time to plant a seed to grow in my greens. I have always wanted to write a book. Ever since I was little, I had imagined pouring my heart into a tome that fits into my hand. Well, why don't I compile some of my poems, write new ones, and come out with a collection, then? Why not make the park greener by chasing a lifelong dream? So, yes, starting now, I will be starting my poetry collection journey. I will be including some poems I already released on social media -- including this one, which I actually wrote for the book -- but for the most part, I will write brand-new poems! I already have a concept I'm excited about, so this will be a arduous but thrilling road. And yes, that means, I may not post my poetry as much as I did before. I will still try to participate in monthly prompts, though. We'll see. Of course, I still have zero clue what lies ahead in terms of what happens after I finish the manuscript. How will I get this published? I don't know. But I'm just focusing on the writing part for now, compiling and weaving word tapestries as best as I could. The logistics and publishing part, I'll worry about later. To bearing fruit 🌿🌳 by @allieterations

Goddess 💫✴️ As promised, here's the English version of my first ever Tagalog poem 'Paraluman'. Again, thank you to @imandq for inspiring me to do a bilingual Tagalog-English piece. 😊 I think it's quite obvious here that I'm a lot more comfortable with my mother tongue of English. It's the language, after all, in which I learnt to weave words. I was intending to write the piece in Tagalog, and then translate it, but the English version ended up leading me towards the end. 😂Oh well ! To love where we're not only someone's goddess but also their partner. 😊 by @allieterations

In a society like ours, especially in conformist Southeast Asian culture, women are constantly being pushed to the same path: acquiesce every dream to sacrifice in the name of domestic homogeny. But sometimes, the family you crave for is chosen, is built upon the very dreams burning in your heart. I'm absolutely honoured to be part of @sachapbooks' Filipina Faces Life znthology! I must admit my idea of twisting the romance short stories I'm fond of writing might have been a bit nuts (😂), but I'm glad the editorial team liked it! My legs feel like they've been through the wringer, but what a fantastic day at the @manilabookfair !! 💓 I finally met up with lieverd @katiedodoodles and hung out with her. We even got our books signed by the incredible Ambeth Ocampo (et oui, le mien, c'est en français. 😂En effet, mon portable est mis en français, donc il a découvert que je parlais la langue).
