Blessings from Mallorca 🫶🏽 that’s how my yoga teacher, mentor & philosopher used to sign off her emails this past summer. I didn’t know much about my yoga ashram before I came, in fact I knew nearly nothing, just I wanted to plant seeds in Spain. It turned out to be without question one of the best & most important experiences of my life. I did this yoga teacher training for a number of reasons, mostly as a treat to myself after having to leave Brooklyn and live with my elderly parents most of the year but also I wanted to learn more about something that had become so valuable & regular in my life. Wow did I get more out of this intensive program than I could have ever imagined. We lived an ashram life at Casa de Radha for 15 days waking at 6am to begin meditations in the dark, sunrise yoga, breakfast, more yoga, philosophy, theory, yin yoga, anatomy class, facial yoga, acral yoga, kundalini yoga, nature walks in history rich Mallorca hillsides, nidra yoga, lunch, more meditation, thai massage, pranayamas, more theory, more philosophy, dance, kirtans, dinner, teaching.. you get the gist, often 15 hours in a day. We had the most incredible vegan/vegetarian dishes & got off the caffeine :) it was incredible. I hit the jackpot with my instructors Maria & Ariel who have lived & studied yoga all over the world from India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, now Spain. A class of 8 with only one that wanted to teach, we are all now strongly considering teaching. I am so grateful to my teachers, mentors & companeros & we all walk away with skills, knowledge & expertise to not only teach but equip us for life forever. Yoga is now clearly a huge part of my life & way of life. I am confident what I learned here has already enriched & deepened my life & will help me tackle the difficult trying times of my life here on out - just what brought me to the yoga mat in Brooklyn. If one is so lucky I recommend it to all. I also wanted to post this as my life has become more involved in yoga, meditation, running, fitness & wellness of all kinds that I’ve created a new handle @alliinflow so find me there if you’re more interested in this stuff & community - I call it my fun feed ☺️ Saludos A by @alliinflow

You might come to yoga because you want to feel stronger, more flexible or get out of pain.

And then somewhere along the way you realize the physical practice was just the doorway.

You learn to breathe when things get uncomfortable. How to slow down. How to pay attention. How to be a little more patient with yourself and the people around you.

You started practicing yoga for your body, then realize it changed everything. 🙏🏽 💯@timsenesiyoga ♻️ by @alliinflow

The Sharp-shinned Hawk symbolizes focus, resilience and navigating complexity.

“Obstacles are the way.”
Life’s hardships are not detours from your path — they are the path. Challenges shape who you become.

“Life seizes your attention with the difficult delightful fact that the end is undecided.”
The future isn’t written. That uncertainty can be frightening, but it’s also beautiful because it means new possibilities always exist.

“The extraordinary is found in the wild declivities of the least expected.”
The greatest discoveries, joys, or transformations often happen in places or moments you never anticipated. (“Declivities” means steep slopes or unexpected terrain.)

“The sun is not wounded by the darkness.”
Dark times don’t diminish hope or goodness. Darkness doesn’t harm the sun — it only temporarily hides it.

“Which simply occasions the defiance of dawn.”
Night creates the opportunity for sunrise. Without darkness, there would be no dawn. Every difficult period contains the possibility of renewal.

* Accept obstacles instead of resisting them.
* Trust that your story is still unfolding.
* Stay open to unexpected opportunities.
* Remember that difficult seasons are temporary.
* Hope isn’t destroyed by hardship — it often grows because of it.

Root like a tree, reach toward the light🌳✨

Tree Pose (Vrikshasana) reminds us to find balance, stay grounded through life’s challenges and continue growing with strength and grace. Today, on International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice — the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere — I’m reflecting on the power of presence, movement and connection to nature. Summer Solstice also universally symbolizes the peak of solar power, vitality, abundance and the triumph of light over darkness.

This year’s theme, Yoga for Healthy Ageing, focuses on yoga’s role in promoting longevity, mobility and emotional resilience as populations around the world continue to age. It highlights the practice as a holistic, preventive approach to maintaining physical and mental wellness at every stage of life. And it is a reminder that caring for our bodies and minds is a lifelong practice.

Life is better and healthier with yoga. I recommend everyone study it, study yourself.
Happy International Yoga Day🧘🏻‍♀️☀️

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life? by @alliinflow
