What fascinates me about this trend is not the clothing itself, but the conversation it creates. Why do certain garments provoke such strong emotions? Why has modesty, throughout history, been expected far more from women than from men?

To me, this trend is about much more than a piece of fabric. It raises questions about power, tradition, and who gets to define what is considered moral, respectable, or acceptable. Across many cultures and religions, women’s bodies and behavior have been regulated, judged, and controlled in different ways.

At the same time, the controversy reveals how differently we perceive oppression. Some forms are obvious to us, while others are so deeply embedded in our own societies that we barely question them. Perhaps the real question is not which religion is more restrictive, but why freedom and self-determination are still so often shaped by gender expectations.

For me, this trend is not about criticizing one particular religion. It is an invitation to reflect on patriarchy, equality, and the social norms that continue to influence how we live, love, and express ourselves.#modest #modestmen #reflection by @allison___kim
