🏃‍♀️🇬🇧 London Marathon training has officially begun!

I’m going to be sharing weekly updates as I work my way toward London in April—and today was a pretty special start: my first 8K back, with April along for the ride in the stroller. ❤️

I’m following the Nike 18-week marathon training plan, but since I’m 6 months postpartum, I’m easing into the training and giving myself permission to repeat runs (or adjust the plan) when I need to. The goal isn’t just to get to the start line—it’s to enjoy the journey getting there.

This week I also started reading This Is About Running, This Is Not About Running by @coachbennett and it’s already been a game changer as I gear up for London.

During today’s 8K, I was thinking about some of my favorite runs of all time—the NYC Marathon, countless miles around Green Lake, running through Central Park—and some of my hardest: Boston with soaked feet, the Portland Marathon in the pouring rain, and that January day I convinced Miles to run Alki with me when it was so windy I genuinely thought we were going to blow over. 😂

And then there was today.

An 8K that felt a little harder because I was pushing a stroller, but also one of my favorite runs because I got to run Alki with April.

What a journey it’s been to become her mom, and what a gift it is to be running again with her by my side. ❤️

So, London… here we go!

Follow along as I train, sweat, struggle, celebrate, and hopefully make it to that start line in April. 🇬🇧🏃‍♀️

And if you’d like to support something bigger than my marathon goal, I’m running with Team World Vision to help bring clean water to people around the world. Every donation helps. 💙

I went into labor so quickly after our shower, and then after April was born, that I’m only just now getting a chance to sit down and reflect on… well, everything. ❤️
I had the best shower ever. Thank you to everyone who showed up and celebrated with us, and to all of you who supported us from afar. Thank you to my family, to my sister for putting this beautiful day together, to Yonder Cider in Cashmere for hosting us, and to Miles’ family who made the trek to be there.

April is 6 months old today. 🥹

It’s so easy to get caught up in the here and now and forget just how much we have to be thankful for. Looking back, I feel so incredibly loved and supported.

Thank you, truly. I love you all.

And I love you, April. More than words could ever say. 🤍 taken in Side Street Cashmere by @allisoncrowston

Hi friends! ❤️ I’m so excited to share that I’ll be running the 2027 London Marathon with Team World Vision! 🇬🇧🏃‍♀️
Running has taken me from volunteering at the NYC Marathon in college to completing Chicago, Boston, NYC, Seattle, and Portland. London will be my fourth of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors — but this race will be the most meaningful yet.
I’m dedicating this marathon to my daughter, April, born March 11, 2026. ❤️ I want her to grow up knowing that women can do anything they set their minds to — and that we all have a responsibility to help others.
That’s why I’m proud to run for Team World Vision, helping bring life-changing access to clean water to children and communities around the world.
After taking time away from running during pregnancy, I’m so excited to be back — this time running for something bigger than myself.
I’d love for you to be part of the journey! If you’re able, please consider donating. Every amount makes a difference. ❤️
