“I can scream if I want to.”🤺✨

I’ve been sitting trying to figure out what, when, and how I was going to post about ATHENA, but I am really at a loss. I most likely have said it for many other shows I have done, but I really mean it when I say I don’t have the words to describe how impactful this show was to me. I can’t say I have ever been so changed physically, emotionally, personally and professionally changed by a show in my life.

ATHENA was not only my first professional lead, it was my first ever 2-hander. It was also probably the most insane and challenging thing I have ever done in my whole life. Many crashouts were had over the intensity of the show and age regressing back to a teenager for 40 hours a week, but I wouldn’t have any other way. The journey with this show, the people, and the character Athena has had my heart overflowing with joy, confidence, and kick-assery.

Thank you to all who came to watch this personal milestone.

ATHENA by Gracie Gardner at ArtsWest opens April 10th! Presented in collaboration with Salle Auriol Fencing Club!

Take a behind the scenes look at a fencing rehearsal for this action-packed play!

Coach Sarah Lippai from Salle Auriol has been working with our dedicated actors and we can't wait to share this story with audiences!

ATHENA follows the journey of 17-year-old fencers, Athena and Mary Wallace as they go from competitors to confidantes. They form a bond as they train for Nationals, but at the end of the bout, only one can come out on top.

eurydice, medusa, ready player pippin, sea captain, love, medea, richard iii, helga, teddy, eddie carbone, a curious director, ophelia (and gravedigger), 7 year old bill gates, magnum cum laude, alumni.

Now that I have been able to sit with it for a few days, I can finally post about my graduation. I don’t know what to say really other than my heart and soul are fed, even with the profound little empty pocket that Cornish filled for so long. I am so proud to have been a part of Cornish and my mighty class of 2024. To have worked with established professionals and immensely talented peers that are change makers, advocates, and true artists. To have made work that feels bigger than myself. To move on to the next big thing.

“for I confess that something perversely pure calls to me from his memory… because he allowed himself to be wholly known.”

Words will never begin to describe how grateful I am to have been able to play Eddie Carbone. I have waited— very impatiently at times I must admit— to be able to be a leading actor at Cornish, and I am beyond happy to have waited for A View from the Bridge. I finally was able to step back, take in all my work I did here and the past four years, and say “I’m proud of myself.” Thank you to all who showed up and have supported me from the beginning. Thank you to the most BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED, and BRILLIANT cast and crew I have ever had. Thank you to my classmates, teachers, mentors, family, faculty, everyone. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart and soul.

Rest in peace, Eddie.🇮🇹❤️

look momma, I found my people!

I can’t even begin to put into words how thankful I am for these beautiful souls. Whether it be me torturing them in DnD, fully dressing up on a Tuesday night to see our Lord and Savior Lady Gaga, or tearing up the club— every time I’m with them I feel myself grow as an artist and as a person. And THAT’S the COLLEGE EXPERIENCE.
