A huge thank you to my amazing illustrator, @aprilhartmanncreations, for bringing Be a Baller Today! to life! April captured the heart, energy, and joy of this story more beautifully than I could have imagined.

The idea for this book really started years ago, when my kids were young. I read that Jim and John Harbaugh’s dad encouraged his family to “attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind,” and I loved that inspiring message for kids.

Over time, that idea became a simple phrase in our house as everyone headed out the door: “Attack the day!” Eventually, it evolved into “Be a baller today!”

It was never just about sports. It was about confidence, courage, kindness, trying hard things, cheering for others, and showing up with heart.

Thank you, April, for helping turn a family phrase into a book we can now share with ballers everywhere. BaBT by @allisonsmall

Grateful for my hometown and my family and lifelong friends. I was so honored to be inducted into the UA Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend and to be a small part of the incredible athletes who wore the black and gold before and after me. Those who know me best know that being from the Midwest - and especially Upper Arlington - means everything to me.
